noticed at sainsburys just before i put derv in tank it has 7% bio in, hence it didnt go in. i only ever use shell or bp etc. now theni was on yankee site about tuning tdi engines and they use acetone to bump up the cetane level which more cetane bigger bang, as an experiment i got a small bottle off chemist and i did notce an improvement to idle on car but never went more into it. down road from me is a place that sells glass fibre stuff and they use a lot of acetone so thats where u buy it. if i think on it was 125ml acetone to 25l of derv so ave a search about on net its there somewhere -
you in the right place, this is about cars

dodgy connector on rear of clocks check out brown earths thats the common ones -
the run on pump on d5wz is for heat dispersal as its a 5kw so a lot of latent heat to get rid of and water is the best way to shift it. the reason or pump on bench is so that the overheat sensor doesnt kick in and shut it down whilst testing. with regards to water pumps theres loads about if you look for example merc vans have them fitted right on bulkhead took me 2 mins to grab it at scrappy. heaters are fitted to loasda cars eg merc vans, vx omega cars etc

same flasher unit for both check the feed going into switch on its multiplug -
i would go for broken wire if not the reluctance sensor may nee moving in nearer to the ring, now my light comes on but abs still works a i found out while playing in snow, be carefull with the sensors as they sieze in and 9/10 times you have to destroy them to get out, also the connector can go high impedance may be worth trying to give good clean

nope not the poor innocent maf the cars going into overboost check all your vacuum pipework. lots of people blame the maf and easy test is unplug it and see if any power diff if there is then is working, also only buy a bosch unit or the exact unit on car dont bother with ebay chinese copys. by cycling the ign it proves its overboost

well giz aclue on your car we might be able to help -
i take it that its a 1.9tdi as vagcom/ vcds will only work on the ford tdi on other fords just the airbags. so full details of car and might be able to help after 01 petrol os obd2 and after 04 diesels so vag com is useless after those dates

Fault Code Readers....?
zorgman replied to pmcn500's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
right then, on your car theres 2 ways to go buy a simple vagcom lead called a kkl and use with a laptop this also gives you the ease of modifying items ie: tickover speed. door locking and best of all check that the pump timing is spot on loads of info on net. you could go the way of a simple handheld reader that shows you the codes if any and read what the fault is inc abs, airbags but thats it you cant do nowt else with it at all. myself ive got vagco and a autel eu703 but the autel does nearly every car on market cost me
