  1. iac is just behind rocker cover to the left of middle held in by 2 bolts, give it a good clean and that should cure it
  2. posting twice wont get you answer any quicker, add car into your signature
  3. yes vag will do it, ive done a few tho its all it will do on a ford
  4. no i never bothered with them as i couldnt be bothered to do the job im still debating wether to buy a honda shuttle or another sharan
  5. looking at my spare rad unit yes 4 bolts dont look like a hard job dont think bumber has to come off
  6. i tow them if ive had fuel line open. why they didnt fit a prime bulb is beyond me. you sure youve set timing correct. is there smoke coming from the exhaust. try a bit easy start in intake to whip it over. first time i did it the pump timing was wrong so no start try moving pump advance and retard to check
  7. cant see the maf doing the fault you got i ran mine without maf and it still pulls like mad, the maf seems to get the blame for allsorts on here when its a innocent bystander. the vw maf is bosch or pierburg so no need to go to veedub. try checking electrical connections on the multiplug on engine
  8. new ecu hasnt got control switched on, its on here some where try the search bar
  9. try ring all 3 dealers and go to cheapest
  10. is this the normal rotary controls if so its the cables not fitted proper, av a look just left of clutch pegal and you can see the lever control dont know which one it is but move the dials see if it moves. ah the non existant lighting norm fault this as theres a single bulb thtas supposed to do the job what i did is use 4 tiny bulbs spaced about and works a treat
  11. ""With it plugged those might go up, but I'll just leave it connected for now until I get my stat replaced because the car only reaches 90C after 20+mins driving and being sat in traffic, on the motorway I'll never get 90, 70 is normal and 80 if I'm pushing her"" nowt to do with the egr valve do your car a favour and unplug the pipe and plug it. tdi engines do run cool esp in this weather. if you want it too run hotter blank a bit of rad off best thing to check is oil temp about 85c is norm
  12. depends if its vw based galaxy more info needed ie yr of your cr would be nice to know
  13. 26p each at fords, go to a scrappy and get a bagfull for a quid as they are just left on car
  14. i believe they do sure the octavia is 112x5 same as galaxy, im selling a set of audi a4 16"alloys with 2 new tyres if you get stuck
  15. right 90hp uses norm turbo 110 a vnt. the 90 dont suffer the vanes sticking and the 110 dont sound vanes sticking if you have that amount of travel when u suck. for the pair of you id check your vac hoses pay attention to where they connect to joints etc and sharp bends. id also change the hose internal on ecu as it goes claggy and soft so can get a pin hole in it, you do need a diag check see what codes are there BUT you need any in there erased before you do a run so you know whats old and new, im in sunderland so bit far for you to travel
  16. have mentioned this fault and fix a few times but dont reuse the old pipe as it goes all gooey and claggy cost approx 30p to rix use a small length of silocone tubing or new rubber tube you only need 4". can throw up code 0575 overboost
  17. by how far did the actuator move on turbo as it needs to move approx 1/4" if i think on, would still go for turbo myself as te 110 are terrible for vanes sticking
  18. year and power of your car ie 90 pr 110 tdi or pd very important info to help you
  19. take the immobiliser chip out of key, as long as you've primed turbo chances are car wont start instantly anyhow so i would just start car as pressure is just about instant
  20. left of battery then theres your turbo pipe look at the engine where the water pipe runs to engine you shoild see the metal bracket that keeps the multiplug in. its a big plug approx 1.5" dia. or you can pull dash out find brown wire which is earth and add another to it. i found this stupid earthing problem when i was sorting my head out after porting it and blanking egr valves off, theres quite a few wires go thru the plug
  21. hi its meant for the mk1 tdi with tdi engine worth a check on yours tho as ive never worked on a mk 2 all my mates have mk1s with tdi engine
  22. easy one this, its the earth which is lost, on the engine near battery you should see a big multiplug check the brown wires as the dash picks its earth up from there, it happened to me when i done my head took few hours of fault finding to locate it, the wire is corroded i chopped the browns off and hard wired to the earth
  23. 90hp dont suffer the turbo fault as he 110 id go for them pipes not worked on the 90 u should be able to get at them from underneath. should only be one hose tho going to actuator on turbo unit does the other one not go into car to the ecu
