  2. hmm it seems pricey to me but what i do is do a search for same model car then look at completed items forget about classifieds and buy it nows, gives you an idea of what people are prepared to pay
  3. sorry to post here but im after a aux heater to fix mine as motor jammed and its burnt out the electronics any one got one lying about please i can have/buy/scrounge. mines a d3 3kw unit not sure if mk 2 fits. many thanks laurie

  5. on the early mk1's the display showed miles left in tank but my late mk1 doesnt is it possible to mod eeprom to switch it on please
  6. mk 1 use a 3kw heater mk2 use a 5kw iirc also mk2 goes do diagnostic plug other than that same units different outputs
  7. heres a funny one when pulling away from standstil theres this crack as in metal hitting other metal coming from passenger side near lower front door, so far changed and checked. lower wishbone new bushes front and back, top of strut all new bearings etc,ball joint,drop link,cv joints,track rod end, brakes and bearings. now im totally stuck i can get it to make noise every time mates lying on floor trying to find it but no joy. any one else had this fault please

  9. its the one with corrugated tube as u say right side of intake. had mine done for 2 years and no bad effects to engine whatsoever

  11. fan speed control has air recirculate switch on which is vac controlled goes to unit behind glovebox check your intercooler pipes and n75 turbo actuator tho if you can hear a noise at 50 its not a vacuem noise unless its in the car so must be a boost noise as vac noise you wouldnt hear go for turbo pipes make sure there intact etc
  12. well im using .216 in my 110hp car and what a difference it makes. itll not go bang just over fuels a bit and when you pull up say to traffic lights you get a engine romp. check out this site http://forums.tdiclub.com/ lots more technical than on here as they've got a tuning section, its mainly yanky gear so let them know your engine code ie 1z,ahu etc
  13. hmm seems youve done things that i would have done but checked my trip system. 44.45 hrs driving 996 miles av speed 19mph avg fuel 46.2mpg thats what my onboard is saying and thats what i go by but not sure how accurate it is. never done the full tank check but nowadays im doing righ done some cals and at 1.19p a litre putting
  14. thats an easy one stick a set of 110 injectors in or do the evry mod for more guts when towing. this is a great forum but does lack quite a bit of technical knowhow on these engines i answer loads on here all moaning that there maf is dead etc etc with no knowledge on how to check it etc. for proper info on the tdi engine you need to read on tdi tuning or vw audi forums where there is masses of info with regards tips cheks limp mode etc, chances are anyone reading this dont know about blocking egr off or taking the fap off its a particulate filter not a cat that sucks power out of the car, take the back box off as well thats total overkill on the system noise levels dont change and diesels dont get a emmisions test just a smoke test mines past 3 mot's with the mods ive got on mine and i piss off loadsa cars bottom end and top end. mpg wise mines brill i never see less than 40mpg knocking about and on a run its in the 60's, 260 round trip sitting at 70' 80's costs me

  17. yes afn engine using vnt turbo, map sensor is inside the ecu which is located behind the clocks. when i done mine i done a mod using a 4.5v zenner diode so that i cant get spikes. for real good info relating only to vw tdi inc pd engines look at tdi club forums theres masses of info on there as tdi's are a big big thing in states theyhave them over 200bhp now and thats where ive learnt about all the mods that can be done safely
  18. sounds like youve got a nice soft pedal, with clutch in does it slide in gear ie no crunching and pull away smooth if so dont worry my left leg is like he man as mines that heavy so your lucky

  21. hi ive got all the test gear for gals sharans etc now then your in kuck as i may be going to redcar next week to get ecu checked so if need be ill give your motor a once over and reset stuff for you. im only up in sunderland
  22. vag com tells you the fault code problem, try using google its all there. we help people out on here but we cant spoon feed you
  23. check that thye led is plugged in behind door panel
  24. aux heater has nowt to do with starting, things to check if you got air in line then methinks thats your problem glow plugs dont stop these engines starting unless its way below 0 timing can be an issue if its to far retaraded if it starts instant say after a hour its deffo air leak in fuel line
