Some times giving the lamp unit a thump it will come to life but usually short lived. I dismantled mine cleaned the tracking and brush greased it worked for a few weeks then packed up again, have since replaced both motors was

  3. Hi and welcome to the forum Faulty Brake light switch most likely cause, its not just a brake light switch it's connected to engine management aswell. The coil light as you called it is the glow plug light it doubles as engine management light on the diesels.

  11. Don't know where yours has broken off but you can buy some flexy exhaust pipe to repair or just throw the old box and run a straight pipe out of the flexy
  12. Can confirm CR2016 are the correct battery, perhaps start by getting correct battery's they are widely available without going to Fords, make sure PATS chip doesn't fall out.
  13. Hi there Chattering from the gearbox may be down to simply low oil level in the box or even incorrect oil. Whiny bearing noises on acceleration but more noticeably on deceleration could be worn transmission/differential bearings
  14. hi one of my friends has a snap on thingy with whatever progs he uses, i thought with it being a 2.3 with ford engine that the vag com wouldnt communicate with anything,or is this not the case It's only the engine VagCom wont communicate with on your car.

  19. Hi Jim That number for the heater glow plug is wrong the right plug without wires attached is a GH 001 long number 0100. 226. 340

Hi again Have you tried using your spare ignition key? may be a transponder problem, if that don't work remove fuse 26 and check for 12 volt on one of the terminals when turning the key to start position, if you have power there then go to relay position 14 remove relay and bridge terminals 2 and 8 in the box then try starting. Let us know how you get on.
