How Do I Remove A Door Switch?
Dave-G replied to tdi90's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
By memory - it's a 1/4 or 1/2 turn to align the locating lugs -
If it's any help, when I looked into 8MB broadband, BT indicated that during the first few weeks of that speed they will try several connections to establish the most stable route. but since i can't get that spped I didn't take them up on it.

Gal Is Sitting Down

Nice sig.... My last pads came from an aftermarket supplier and were too tight. I put them in a vice and filed them down a couple of though each side. The fact that you were able to hammer them in at all means they are only a little too wide. -
Oh no, not that one  Wellcome Capri... You got a Capri?

There's an even worse issue with paint flaking on the newer models. It seems the plastic wasn't etch primered as well as it should have been. Could also indicate a previous owner wore jewellery - or had long finger nails. Yer clutch pedal - well some people use hard soled shoes and some people wear trainers, Expect vast differences of wear indication. In addition some people constantly rest a foot there.

Never heard of a second one

Argh - forcing pads into calipers is not good - My last set were too tight so I filed the sides of the backplate down and cleaned off the filings natch. They need to slide in and out without binding. Try to find those 'clips again too. They are there for a reason - Contrary to some peoples beliefs. :) -
Good result then Could someone rest their pointer around galaxy_1.9TD_Zetec' name on the third post up and see if it shunts around Yes really - it does on my pc :D

Quote:Now them screeching brakes... Every part of the metal backplate of the pad that touches anything else needs a smear of copper grease. B) When you remove the pads you will see the markings on the backplate where they have touched/slid/been pressed by something else. The areas to look closely at are coloured white, photo's courtesy of a well known auction site -
The seat has a tad more in it than the Galaxy in the MK1's Little things like a 'remote control for the radio on the stalk, nicer seats etc... Don't let 130k put you off a diesel if it's running ok. Try and get at least 3 months warranty with it - even if you have to pay a tad extra for it, gives you time to find any faults. Seat tailgate looks nicer and that badge is shiney, loud and proud innit?

Given that you have a basic mechanical aptitude - you changed ya brake pads... I'm with wolfie. We can only do so much, based on our experience of your problem. I have carried huge people in the back of my Gal without breaking the springs and I have yet to read a thread on broken ones. I wouldn't think they'd cost much at a scrappy? What mileage has the troublesome beast done please? Now them screeching brakes... Every part of the metal backplate of the pad that touches anything else needs a smear of copper grease. -
I don't think I can offer you any more Brad, Might be worth considering that the cabin space on a Galaxy is near twice as large as the average car so it takes a tad longer to convert all that cold air. I also run the rear heater on initial warm up if it's especially cold. Perhaps if you ask the author of thread about changing brushes on the run on pump he might be able to take you further. Since you seem to feel so strongly that it may have something for you, instinct being such a powerfull thing - sometimes we just have to go with it. Can I suggest you suck it and see, then let us know? It seems quite a small job. You'll need to be quick about it though otherwise it'll be too warm to evaluate the difference.

Has the car had a hard life? I too would suspect the rear spring..................... However this comes just too soon after work on the front suspension struts to be ignored - which could show up easier on the opposite rear corner, particularly when parked on eneven ground. It's worth a quick gander at the front to see if either of them have slipped a tad or is starting to come adrift. -
Thanks Nik. I've resigned mysely to waiting till the end of the month when the exchange is allegedly making its improvements available. I have received an invitation to join total BB for 26.99 pm. The letter claims I should be able to receive speeds of up 2.5 MB. Well last year when they made others in the area 2MB I was advised I cannot get that speed.

Brad - I'm on my fourth Galaxy. I have never got any up to full working temperature in less than 9~10 minutes - even with hard driving.

Hi Tim, during some recent bother with mine I checked the switch - Yup it's purple.
