Yikes - I hope I'm wrong here... I suspect you have used the wrong oil and knacked the engine. Could you check the oil spec numbers on the magnatec can for me? it should be 505 01 The engine is known as a Pumpe Deuce (PD) type and is very oil specific to operate the fuel injectors. EDIT: I just noticed the 1998 bit... what bhp is it?

How Do You Test A/c Working In Winter.
Dave-G replied to neiluk's topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
I don't think that proves a no fault AC. There could be a leak in a few pipes. mine is currently in a Ford dealers for a replacement pipes and a cannister of some sort in the off side wing below the lights. They have jusr called to say that has been replaced - but when they refilled they found another split pipe :) My AC clutch was engaging prior to this. -
Replacing Rubber Insulator On Top Of Macpherson Strut
Dave-G replied to Galaxy_Quest's topic in Trainee member help
You could take it to another mot station, preferably a modern one, and explain your problem to them before you book it in for a new test. Ok - you lost your money on the last one..... erm - and could again if it IS faulty. You'd be amazed at how many garages will try to prove they are better than Joe Bloggs round the corner - it's human instict to try and get you to go there next time. -
I think they say it takes about 5/10 working days Adrian, but I rather suspect it's deliberately retained for it's interest. It does get there eventually

click here You say you've read all the aux heater threads but can't find an answer? There was me thinking how downright usefull the FAQ's are but it seems they can't be good enough :)

Juddery Banana Shaped Wipers
Dave-G replied to Grandad's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Try to establish if the wiper folds over at the beginning of each stroke, which will happen it the blade is at right angles to the screen. I have corrected this on many a car by twisting the upper part of the arm with a pair of pipe grips on a trial and error basis. keep the pliers in the car till its accomplished -
"ANyone know if this is going to cause me any issues if I run without the heater for a couple of weeks?" No it will not cause you any issues :P I reaaly did have my brevity cap on when I first responded to this post  Is anyone else having a problem with the quick reply tab? mine don't work, and I carn't find my WD40 :D

I've never used mine - but was told it's the key James Bond would give to a hotel to get the luggage. It apparently - As Mumble Bee allures to does not open the glove box, so keep the gun in there

Yes - quite impressive that, even better if there was a reply button
-
Yes, sorry Nik - you are quite correct and now I feel guilt

I reconsidered the tone of my post nik as it looked like I was being argumentative when I wasn'nt - in the full knowledge that the post would show an edit had taken place. It was done almost spontaniously and I hadn't considered a reply quite so early

Oh dear - someone found what I posted offensive, and I can't edit it. I live and work in an area that has more foreigners than home growns in it... I'm sorry - they made the getto - I didn't When I see people racing around in their flash cars that look completely "out of their means" it is much more likely to be a foreigner. If you see a young kid in a car that is way too expensive and flash for his years you too would probably notice it, him - and therefore his nationality. I know we are expected to turn the other cheek and bury our heads in the sand here, but this goes on too much to be ignored

Sorry Steve, I have re-read your post, I thought you had read the lengthy posts about it and assumed you'd read them all. No you cannot turn it on yourself... unless you modify the wiring of the car. It would be feasible to bypass the temperature sensor so you COULD switch it on - but there is no need for that above 10 degrees. You could spend a few hundred quid getting the gubbins and timer to switch it on at a given time before your trip. That option is used in countries much colder than ours. Much cheaper to pop out to the car with the spare key, start up, lock door, void insurance ooh - at least 10 times a year and getting less ;)

I see these johnny foreigners racing around all over the place, full of self importance - and probably being so on our money through some sort of welfare con. Easy come - easy go hey? Actually I hope he used his house as security for hire purchase of that car - and that he'll never be able to sell it.

No - to both of you :16:

You could always give us a bit of a break Maz ;) ;) ;)

It's not like you would draw in much crap round the edges of the pipe under vacuum - go spend the money on a good meal instead.

Welcome to the forum matey - if the rear washers don't work, check the front passengers footwell for dampness under the carpet. also move that seat forwards and lift the carpet cover beneath it to see if any water has been there. Search this site FAQ's for "rear washer pipe" to see what the score is. Wipers possibly a ball joint on the linkages. FAQ's again I think.

Ah - but these are the sacred cows of local authority corruption which ups their free home improvement scheme for all councillors who vote for them. They now use this method to avoid the possibility of being photo'd with a brown envelope. Any major work is worth maybe a new roof to someones 'daughters house  Any civil construction job will do - all those mini islands that appear probably got a free meal in an expensive restaurant. Traffic lights for your constituents? oh yes please - thats worth a weekend in france surely? lets see now - where can we create a need for them... hmm there's almost half a mile with no lights here
