  2. Stuff the local ford dealer if they can't tell you the truth. amost every tyre producer is now producing this size and spec tyre - though some won't be getting imported to the UK. Most "discount tyre" specialists have lower cost new ones in some pretty obscur names in stock. The words " reinforced" or "extra load" needs to be evident on the correct tyre.
  3. I'd go with Bleeno here - most electrical items use brown/red as a live and blue/black as a neutral. In addition the photo appears to have the ends of the red and black stripped but not the white.... you might find it switches off when other electrics are used or gets interferrence from them.
  4. A rather attractive woman goes up to the bar in a quiet, rural pub. She gestures alluringly to the barman who comes over immediately. When he arrives, she seductively signals that he should bring his face close to hers. He does so and she begins to gently caress his beard, which is full and bushy. "Are you the landlord?" she asks, softly stroking his face with both hands. "Actually, no" he replies. "Well, can you get him for me - I need to speak to him?" the woman asks, running her hands up beyond his beard and into his thick hair. "I'm afraid I can't," breathes the barman - clearly aroused "is there anything I can do?" "Yes there is. I need you to give him a message," she continues huskily, popping a couple of fingers into his mouth and allowing him to lick them gently. "Tell him that there is no toilet paper in the ladies room." ;) ;)
  5. Yup - 115's are PD engines Neil
  6. I have to agree - ya gets wot ya pays for. If the lady's husband had really wanted her to be looked after while out and about alone he should have paid for a higher level of care. Imagine this... run your car into the ground and when you break down try to get ANY motoring organisation to deal with you there and then the same way someone takes a gamble and gets cover for when it's needed - if ever. Think of it like break down insurance. Sounds more like an oportunity for them to make less money to me when they take into account the costs of transporting her car onwards - in the winter when they are busier.

Or buy one of these thingies like wot I did it's basically able to give a code and clear a code only - just like it says on the box. code reader
  8. Well firstly SK - assuming they are insured... it's usually a scam where their equally dodgy parents insure themselves as the main driver and the brat as a named one, on a second car. Money is of course not a problem thanks to our benefits system, drugs selling and did I mention DVD copies? Now to the meaty bit of the question - I very much doubt it my old fruit. But hey ho all they'll get is an asbo as a badge of honour if they get caught - and surprisingly it's normally the slightly wayward ones who stop when Mr. Plod puts that nice blue light on. The real baddies will take off without a care in the world in full knowledge that the copper has to hang back so the poor souls won't panic and kill themselves or someone else. Personally I think they ought to steer them towards some quiet area where the only people they can hurt are themselves then let rip at them. The coppers of course would have loads of fun too then.
  9. You might have simply cleared off some gungy stuff and got it working properly. I'm into my fourth Shalaxy - the turbo could easily be heard on my first and my current one. A pleasing sound I might add - as one who is sometimes easily pleased by simple things in life. Either that or my old ears are regenerating themselves B)
  10. Ha - well there's a MAF sensor or a T-MAP sensor...
  11. Have you been getting it serviced before it's due - and the nice mechanic resets it for you?
  12. Good that you followed VWS's suggestion
  13. That sounds like a bus conductor... putt putt, ding ding
  14. The catches and striker plates are somewhat adjustable. Has the door ever had any repair work? Perhaps it has been adjusted to high - you can adjust the door catch on the rear wing by slacking off the bolts a tad and relocating it.
  15. As seatkid says - your steering wheel needs to come off. The brass thingy is probably part of the ring contact for the horn switch, part of which sounds like has busted and is fouling something - It has to maintain electrical contact while steering. Get yourself parked up outside a scrapyard that has a Galaxy comparable to yours and remove the steering wheel - see whats what and get the replacements needed. Of course you'll need to take a few tools with you and ask the nice scrapmerchant if he's ok about only supplying the bits you need - within reason. This could be very complicated if you have an airbag in the steering wheel - of which I am not competent to discuss.
  16. Even though it's higher than the level mark - that may just be a guideline. My feeling is don't mess with something that works ok. If the high level was a problem I think it would have done some damage by now.
  17. Alls well that ends well - kewl
  18. Hmm - yer a bit brief there geezer. If you let go when you are driving straight ahead with no road camber you have a good set-up. If you let go when cornering and it doesn't self centre you have a problem. Would you care to give us a bit more info please? Welcome to the forum btw.
  19. Have you been using your air-con? If so use it again and look for tell drips of condensate from the evaporator behind the glove box. If you have someone you want to pi55 off have them be a front seat passenger while you take them for a drive. The condesate will drip on their right foot if the drain pipe has come adrift. Alternatively place a newspaper there while you go for a drive, you'll see where the water drips onto it.
  20. So patients don't have equally important things needing their personal attention then? Look at the average doctors waiting room, look really hard and fair now guys - does it seem morally right that so many people wait so long for so few?. I dont have a problem with 10~20 minutes but be realistic - nearing an hour seems to be the norm. Appointments are a two way street guys - not just to favour the flowpath of a precious public servant's day.
  21. I think you're being a bit harsh there JB. I have had to have outpatient surgery to my hands three times, fair enough with that - an operation can take longer than anticipated. The incessant "aftercare" appointments seem to be a way of boosting the consultants earnings. I don't even have too much of a problem with that either but: "they" cram something like 50 "lets see the healed up result" appointments into a four hour afternoon. The result has been an average of 50 patients + their companion's waiting two hours each for the consultant. Yup - some two hundred "customers" hours wasted because the NHS thinks it's doctors time is SOOOOO much more valuable than their patients. And guess who pays the pay and display overstay fines if we don't put in a pocket full of money just in case of a long wait? The third time it happened to me I complained loudly to the reception desk and got told thats how it works - bring a book! I am now playing them at their own game and cancellelling each appointment they re-make with me hours before it's due. This should help the queue a tad huh? Like wise my health centre - they have this flashing display detailing how many doctors hours were wasted due to missed appointments last month. That would ease their workload right? Oh - yea like they could have made everyone wait even longer for their very late appointments. Dentists too! There arn't many industries that could get away with pi55poor customer service like that - but they all know we're stuck with the shoddy treatment government calls a health service.
  22. Hell... TWO happy bunny posts in the SAME day - wass goin on kiddo?
  23. That sounds like a darnned good deal SK. Have you found that once you use it - the windows steam up shortly after you turn it off if it's been raining?
