Another Tdi Starting Issue

ours is just the same, been over and checked everything, no codes ever show, changed sensors, filters you name it. even new starter and battery. no difference. i think its a qwuirk of these models. ours always starts , sometimes straight up and sometimes after a good cranking, it seems to take a while if the car has just been started and run for a few seconds rather than gone out for a run. -
went to dealer today for a door light switch for the rear passenger door he got the slide up and then was lost. shows two that look the same but one is

Fault Code List And Explanations
marinabrid replied to marinabrid's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
something just come to mind, the fault said, unauthorized, intermittent, around a year ago i got a key cut with a chip in it, i have not had it matched to the ecu though, i did try to start the car with it but it started then cut out as indeed it should. i wonder if that was the unauthorized attempt. i have cleared the code and will check later. thanks -

thanks for that big kev although we can get to the info we need to diagnose the problem, what do i do now i have it !!!! do i hope it dont happen again, do i go to dealers and let them tell me i need a new immo and new keys, i only got one black key anyway ! the fact that the car starts and always has it syas theres a fault. -
hi all, i got vag com working, although it said interface not found i saved it anyway and hey presto it worked when the ignition was on. i found this page of fault codes that may be useful for the faqs. it lists nearly every code going i think told me i had immobilizer issue, i went to the immo module and it gave me 01176 key. dont know why this is , although sometimes it turns over a while before it starts the car has always started in the end. its said that if it was immo issue then usually car runs for a few seconds then stops. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/Category:Fault_Codes

just a thought, give the heater a thump with a rubber mallett, after a summer of non use or sat on a shop shelf it may need waking up, i kid you not, that what i did with ours and it coughed into life. other than that, you may need to check the wiring supply to the heater for power, earth, etc, when i had probs a few years ago, it turned out to be the power sire to the small pump that pumps fuel to the heater, they are under the car in a messy place, near the fuel tank, the wires can get corroded and break off, thats what ours had, reconnected and heater worked. they seem linked somehow so the heater wont fire without the pump and the pump need the heater to tell it that it wants fuel.

Aux Heater (again)
marinabrid replied to whitietdi's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
check they actually fitted the correct plug, they should have paperwork to prove they got the plug in for that job, they could have fitted any glow plug that looked similar ! a lot of these garages have never seen or heard one of these heaters and know nothing about them. -

Aux Heater/booster Heater
marinabrid replied to lilbob's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
beru gh001 is available from gsf car parts cheaper than the dealers this plug has one nut connector on top, some later models are fitted with a plug that has 2 wires embedded in it that you can only get from dealers. i think these were fitted 04 or 05 onwards on some heaters,
