  1. Your first and last trip to the dealers eh....
  2. Go for it JB...but tell them you want to keep the originals..afterall you are 'paying' for your new ones even at a 'special' price. They aren't being done under warranty so don't need to be returned to Ford and you'll soon get your 100 quid back when you put them on ebay!!
  3. Fitted it all last weekend...quite an easy job really once all the parts are together...just playing around with the settings posted by Fredweb. Mines an earlier Version b that should take a feed from the ABS rather than the gala. Getting close now though, about 40 yards ahead of where the satnav thinks I am til the GPS kicks in... If anyone wants any hints/tips/part numbers/suppliers feel free to pm/mail me and I'll help out if I can...
  4. they do all types of converters....ford to sony/pioneer/etc etc but not blaunpunkt (vw) to ford so time to get the wallet out again!! you'll need the lead and changer or you could just go for a phatbox for about the same money !!!
  5. I know...I saw the post over there!! Glad you got it sorted Just fitted one myself, just playing around wiht the tyre/pulse settings...I'm about 40 yards ahead of where the satnav thinks I am !!!
  6. Nice...the doris will be jealous...she's got an older version of that hu...mind you if I get my MFD sat nav installed she's having my pioneer (the only excuse i could think of when she spotted the 'ITEM WON' email from ebay!!!!
  7. Show us a piccie then vr6...(of the head unit, not you!!)
  8. Thanks mate...that was quick!!! I take it the switches do not need replacing as has been suggested in other posts? Thanks again Mark
  9. Hi John....Part number for the fascia would be great... Cheers Mark
  10. Martin I think you were in the best place earlier in the forums on vwnavi.com it is solely set up for these units I've been camped in there most of today gathering info ready for when I attempt to install one in my gal....
  11. John... Have a look here..... VW MFD NAVI MANUAL or here... VW NAVI MANUAL IN .PDF FORMAT It is a copy of a manual for the VW unit (EXACTLY THE SAME) The second link is to a full copy of the manual that you can download and view or print out if you like !! Hope that helps... The site is great for any info on the MFD units, I am about to attempt an install myself    Wish me luck! (Any tips/info grstefully received!) ATB...Mark
  12. topcarp2...have a look at this site... Alloy Wheel Guide This site will give you all the info you need, it explains what PCD and Offset are and gives you the fittings for just about every car on the road, you can then check the list and see which other cars wheels may fit yours.. but just in case... shalaxys are all 5 x 112 PCD (5 stud hole) with an offset of 35-45 and a centre bore size of 57.1mm. There are many other manufacturers wheels that use these sizes but as you are specifically after 15" wheels keep an eye out for Audi A4/A6 wheels as these will fit (Audi A3 wheels WILL NOT!) HTH Mark
  13. Cheers Andy, they look really smart and I don't think you need to rush out and get it lowered, looks great as it is.....just to confirm the supplier...LTC, Stourbridge? Problem is though...I still like the RS4's as well !!! :P I'll let you know what I decide on once I've got the dosh sorted !!
  14. Hi Andy...those look ACE!! Sent the guy at stourbridge an email a while back about having reinforced tyres fitted and he didn't get back to me! Has it affected the ride quality at all? Any chance of a full side on piccie ?? Tempted...VERY tempted..about to move house and may have to factor in a set of these onto the new mortgage !!!
  15. Blatters...get down to the dealer and start moaning..i had two changed as a goodwill gesture as wheels are only guaranteed for 12 months. Had to pay 5% towards the cost to get another 12 month guarantee on them! It is a VERY common problem on this style of wheel, if you get no joy from the dealer speak to Ford Customer Services, they sorted it out for me. HTH Mark
  16. SharanTDI...if you bought that kit fom draco2700 you will find that it is the kit for the petrols, the kit for the TDI's and the 2.8 is slightly firmer so if you fit it it may well me a bit lower that he 35mm it's supposed to be.... ....they look nice though :)
  17. Ford Customer Relations told me that they do not do extended warranties for the same reason....
  18. Matt, the 35mm Eibach kit from the dealers is only 149 quid..... Got the part number if you want it....
  19. MM...with a 12 month old its on everywhere I'm afraid...I no longer rule the remote !!!
  20. Good to hear you've sorted it. Seatkid... u r watching too much CBeebies mate...hot,hot,hot Big Cook !!! :(
  21. Dave...do a seasch on badges...it was all covered quite extensively recently when MATT changed his front/back ones... mark
  22. Autoleads adapter number: PC5-91 As MM said...it sends power to the aerial amplifier that no longer has a feed as you have changed the head....most in-car audio places do them also Halfords but you will pay a bit more there. HTH Mark
  23. Maglite.....have you spotted these.... Projektzwo Headlamp Conversion Kit Fill your boots kiddo
  24. no prob dave...pm your email addy
  25. Just a few pointers..... 1. The Head Unit needs to be ON for the DVD System to power up. 2. The infrared remote receiver is on the screens so make sure that you are pointing the remote at the screen and not at the dvd unit in the console. 3. To power on the system point the remote at one of the screens and press the power button. 4. To get the actual DVD film menu's to work you need to press the 'DVD' button on the remote, this will then display 'DVD' in the top right corner of the screen. This will allow you to navigate through the dvd menu's, when you have selected your scene etc press the 'DVD' button again to remove the 'dvd' in the corner of the screen. 5. You can add additional av kit (playstation, xbox, video camera etc etc) through the AV inputs at the front of the console, if your system is looking for this input you will get nothing on your screens (like trying to watch a video on your tv without turning it on). This option is within one of the setup menu's. Sorry if these seem a little basic but as I couldn't get my system to power up when I got it home I decided to read the manual thoroughly and then play around with the system for half an hour or so to learn it's little foibles! If you haven't got an instruction manual let me know and I'll see if I can scan them to a document for you. HTH Mark
