Gearbox - 'notchy Gearchange'
Marky replied to Marky's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Dealer technician (haha) commented on the smoothness of the gearbox and thought I was lucky to have a good one! He couldn't hear any knocking from the fornt suspension (again) I will be taking him out in it this week to point out the noises/roughness of the box as I told him he must have been driving like his great granny !! -
6006 Radio Phone Mute, And Maybe Sat Nav
Marky replied to swiss_hutless's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Thanks Ivor, I didn't know you could get them, off to the dealers again !!! -
Yes the DVD player will play normal audio cd's. If you're having satnav you won't have the radio fitted at all, the satnav will have a tuner but no CD player and the cd's played thorugh the dvd player can only be heard through the headphones unless you start adding some mods as others have done, do a search on cd changers/satnav for more info.

Forgot to say, once the removal keys are inserted you need to exert some horizontal pressure on the keys (hands away from each other) and pull at the same time!!

No aux inputs on 6006

Get in the back bin and have a look around for a spare cable!!

So VR6....you still running low n loud....???

If you haven't got a thin ruler get a piece of thin insulated cable (speaker cable or something similar) hold taught in both hands, then slide along the back of the badge. Because you haven't got a hard edge there is no fear of damaging the paintwork. You will then need white spirit & t-cut to remove the remaining padding/adhesive before you put your new ones on. Don't forget to heat it with a hairdryer first as Ivor said.

Hi, Finally got round to putting my Pioneer headunit in in place of the factory fit one, this will enable me to connect the factory dvd player into the pioneer to get dvd sound through the car speakers so before I go ripping out carpets just wondering if any of you have any advice as to the best route for the cable from dvd to head unit??? Thanks in advance Mark

Gearbox - 'notchy Gearchange'
Marky replied to Marky's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Apologies...did a search AFTER I posted...nice to know I'm not the only one with this problem...!! I'll still hassle the dealer though ;) Mark -
Hi all, The Gal is going back into the dealers on Thursday for a second set of drop links in three months (!) and I've asked them to check out the gear change (again) as it seems as though 1st to 2nd then 2nd to 3rd is VERY 'notchy', especially when cold but not great when warm. If you are driving it with a bit of gusto it is even worse to the point of double clutching!! The dealer had a look at it the last time it went in and came back with the usual 'can't find anything wrong with it' then told me that I should be waiting for the rev's to drop down to idle speed before engaging the next gear...I just laughed at him and walked away (it was late and I had to get home!) So..has anyone else had any problems with the six speed manual box or could it be a clutch issue?? Any comments/advice gratefully received (as always) so I am armed with info before it goes back in. Cheers, Mark.

Have a look here PSOne In-car Adapter Seems a little expensive though..... Mark
-
Floz, If it is the small PSOne you can buy a 12v adapter for it which will plug into the power outlet next to the audio/video inputs. If its the original Playstation then its an invertor I'm afaraid. HTH Mark
-
Just bought the 300w inverter from Maplins, as Ivor said they are on special at the moment at half price. Paid 19.99 for mine then one day I will get time to mount the ps2 somewhere and hide all of the wiring!!!

So thats what the HDi stands for on the new Pugs.... Hamster Direct input.....

Tigger....yep, standard across the range. Homer...Why not take the wife out onto private land with a couple of pallets and get her to do some parking practice to get her used to the size and just how easy it is with the sensors?? (Be careful how you put this to her !!! )

To each their own.......

There isn't a stalk on the facelift models it is incorporated into the steering wheel itself, so no-go there I'm afraid.... Why not get the infrared steering remote for the pioneer head unit ??? about 20 quid IIRC...just a thought... Mark
-
Fred Couldn't you fit it under one of the 2nd row seats?? Stick it to the carpet using heavy duty velcro so you can unplug and whip it out if needed...??? Mark
