  1. What problems are you having ?? I must admit that the system takes a while to get used to and is a little slow to respond to the remote control commands but apart from that it is superb!
  2. Isn't it just a +12v so that the amp only powers up when the headunit is on? Usually a blue lead from the back of the headunit...
  3. As Nik said...750 from ford...I bought one from ebay..brand spank vw one for 170 inc p&p The same guy has a couple for sale at the moment so I can assure you that these seats are brand new and never sat on !!! Here's the link... Galaxy/Sharan Integrated Child Seat ps..I have no connection with johnvwaudi just a satisfied customer.
  4. Cheers VR6..ordered a set of tail/stop for my mini's smoked rears !!
  5. Thanks for the info Dave...just had two wheels changed under warranty (eventually!) Dealer really messed me about but said 'I'll change the centrecaps for you as a gesture of goodwill cos the new rims don't come with them and you don't want the old ones spoiling the look of your new wheels!!' Lying b*****d !!!!
  6. Steve...have a look at your nuts next time you remove a wheel (ooherr missus) and you will find they are studs (bolts)!!! Wheel fixing to the hub varies immensley between vehicles and even between the wheels fitted !!!
  7. Davec......OUCH!! I think they are
  8. Totally agree VR6... Studs/bolts are available from the dealers or try the scrappies
  9. This has been covered before...Draper do a set of special sockets that lock over the security nuts so you can take them out (kinda defeats the object of having them fitted in the first place!) or you can HAMMER a 19/20mm socket over the nut and remove or drive down to your local tyre place as most of these have a set of the aforementioned sockets! Most people the just replace them with standard wheelnuts so they don't have this trouble again !!! HTH Mark
  10. Hi...ordered a set of 25 today (1 spare ;) ) as an addition to the colour codes that Vee Dub posted, here is the full part number and colour code for the Anthracite ones that Mutley got... Part No: 7M3 881 087 Colour Code: 71N None in stock and on back order from VW !! I think they've had a bit of a run on these !! Thanks to VR6 for the original info, you were right about the VW parts system...looked worse than the Ford one which isn't the easiest to navigate around !! ATB Mark
  11. Thanks Mutley/VeeDub....off to the VW dealers Monday  :D :D
  12. Mutley....is that part number for the Dark Grey ones or the beige ones ?? Sorry if I missed it if mentioned in the posts.... Cheers, Mark
  13. Fell off my chair sitting at the dealers the other day when they quoted a man on the phone the princely sum of
  14. J....I think the 'don't give up the day job' applies to both of us here !!! ;) :D ;)
  15. Since when have we ONLY been able to reply to the specific topic title/question? I thought any advice to a newbie would be deemed upon as being worthy! Apologies for not knowing anything about green fluffy oil...buy some decent stuff and stop overfilling it !!! :( B) :(
  16. Ford Formula SD Oil Part Number.... 1130310 Price:
  17. DM Do a search on oil and you will find many posts!!! Basically... The diesel engines used are VW Pump Deuse (PD) engines. These require a specific oil to VW 505.01 spec. Ford's own brand is called Formula SD, VW's is called Quantum. You need to make sure that your dealer is aware of this as not many seem to be and will fill your nice new 130 tdi with standard Ford diesel oil which is no good for your engine!! As i said earlier, buy your oil BEFORE you take it for its service and tell them to use the oil you have supplied... HTH Mark
  18. 1. Mark 2. Birmingham 3. 2003 Gal 130 TDI Ghia 53 plate 4. 8 months 5. Yes, if the dealer network was better 6.
  19. If your wipers are on (contstant) and you come to crawl/stop they will stop/change to intermittent to save the wiper motor, they will resume normal operation when you pick up speed again. The first upward click of the arm is intermittent wipe, the switch on the top adjusts the time delay for the wipe...to the left for slower to the right for quicker.... HTH
  20. Buy your oil BEFORE you take it to the dealers for service...tell them it is there to use and can they leave the can with the 1/2litre that will be left in the boot as it is yours !!!! I asked for the price of the Formula SD 505.01 spec oil at the parts dept the other day, man behind desk (who had been really helpful) laughed and said he had never heard of it and that they would use 'standard oil from their big tank'. After I explained to him about the PD engine he checked on the system and apologised admitting that you learn something new every day!!! Oh man !!!
  21. And they'll be corroding within the next five months :D
  22. Dave...probably goes without saying but make sure they used the correct oil... just had the '505.01 Formula SD spec oil' conversation with my dealers parts dept who said 'they'll just use standard oil of course'!!! Doughnuts!!!
  23. Hi Paul...sounds like you did a good job on them...my only concern is the wax/polish BETWEEN silver and laquer...you should use a cutting compound (t-cut, G3 or the like) this will cut back any imperfections with your first three coats giving a nice finish to laquer onto...waxing between coats can cause the paint to react/run but sounds like you got away with it :o ps...did u get the paint form halfrauds or a paint supplier in the end ??
  24. Blatters......looks like this thread has crossed over into the 'Alloy Wheel Refurb' thread...there is a set of steels on ebay at the moment found by vr6 ... heres the link: Galaxy 2001 Steel Wheels Buy It Now price of
