Sat Nav Unit (brand New) Available
Marky replied to Marky's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
SOLD!! -
a lot of Alhamra's and Sharan's were available with uprated suspension! either the sports kit or the HD kit  one of the problems with these options when fitted from new is getting the correct replacements! I spoke to Seat UK about this when I was looking at slamming my Galaxy and was told by a couple of their dealers and by their tech dept that they cant get replacements parts for these kits! and use standard OE parts as replacements  they said that although they fit these kits in the factory they cannot get them and they were not available as replacement parts over the counter! I even tried to get a couple of the rear sports shocks from my local dealer and he said the same thing to me! although I was lucky and found that VW do stock them and they will sell you the parts over the counter :D so if you want to go even further and replace the anti roll bar bushes etc with uprated sports versions they are available :D but you will need to buy the larger diameter anti roll bars and mounts in order to get them to fit  I know wot u mean 3.5 ... when the dealers put my reg into the system apparently my gal didn't have ANY suspension fitted to it before it left the factory! It listed EVERY spring/shock arrangement ever fitted and they were quoting me 80quid + vat per spring before i supplied them with the eibach kit part number which they then gave me the four springs for 108 quid....work that out then!!??!!??!!??!! Ta for the info on the bushes...might look into that next...

Marky, That sounds about right! Looks like we lucked out and got springs from a 1972 Land Rover!! I keep telling the kids that they can't keep hiding under the wheel arches when the are playing hide & seek!! Can't wait to see what it will look like when it has been dropped! Hehehe...you are right about the LRV springs (they still fit them, I know, I work there!) Adrianf beat me to those wheels by about 5 minutes! He bought them from steve and I'm still gutted ( ) They look great on his gal though... Now beginning to wish I'd gone for the 50mm like you but it'll be interesting to exchange pics/views on them. Mine cost

Stevie...I know what u mean...keep looking at mine thinking 'its a good job I ain't been over to france cos I could get 50 illegal immigrants under each arch!' What I have found though is alot of the alhambra's were fitted with the eibach kit as standard without anyone knowing..as they all went down the same track I wonder how many gals/sharans had them fitted without realising after a nice sleepy siesta !!!

Ada's just rubbing salt into the wounds now....!!! ;) :) Post some pics of mine when I get them on...

No way!!!! Cheeky so n so's...I feel partly responsible seems as it was me that gave you the link... At least you've got your order confirmation with the correct price...they don't look like a mickey mouse operation so (fingers crossed!) you'll get your money back... Think you're right about the wheels....don't think I can have them sitting there waiting for the eibach's so they're gonna go on on Wednesday...I'll stick a couple of pics on then... Keep me posted about your overcharge... ATB Mark

Audio Options Mk1 Galaxy
Marky replied to keith9534's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
I see......I`m guessing that nobody actually makes a.5 din plate for this purpose? Putting two single din units in sounds like the original setup for this car. The only reason I ask is that I already have I 6006 and 6000 CD player to use if I can get it right. Otherwise its over to the orginal radio (once I have the amplifier fixed with a TDA 7253 Ic) and the addition of a DVD in dash player. The only problem is that I can`t see any "autolead" that I can use to add the DVD audio into the radio system . With a 6000 I have a soundlinx adaptor to add 3 audio sources in you can also get an 0.5 din cover plate from the dealers....about a fiver if I remeber correctly !! -
Nice one Stevie...bad luck apple! I've sorted the issue out about the eibach kit ford part numbers and have ordered the kit today, unfortunately they have quoted me 10-14 day delivery :D still, it'll give me time to get the best price on the rs6's i'm after! For future reference the Ford part numbers for the Eibach Pro Kit are as follows: 2.0 & 2.3 Petrol 09/95 -> 1132325 2.8 V6 petrol/All 1.9tdi 09/95 -> 1132326 Look forward to seeing the pics tho steve

I can get the rs6's with 45 offset no trouble...but they want an extra 15 quid a rim!! Not alot you can do about it though !!! Let u know which springs I've gone for once I've priced up the eibachs at the dealers tomorrow (I get a big fat discount so should get them for about a ton!) Typical Ford dealer!! Doesn't recognise the number THEY gave me 8 months ago and cannot locate the kit on the parts system!! Don't suppose anyone knows or can confirm the FINIS number I've got? Number they gave me is : 1132326 This is for the Eibach Pro Kit part number: E3574.140 Thanks in advance, Mark

Nice one mate...been told I need 45 offset rs6's cos the 35's will stick out too much!! I think that price includes post and packing as well....might go for them over the eibachs myself!!
-
Alot easier on the eye!! have a look here before you get them off ebay... 89.99 inc vat!! Gmax kit..carismastyle link
-
Gmax (and Eibach) say you can run on OE dampers as long as they are in good condition so think u should be ok..I am still toying with the gmax set...don't want to loose too much ride quality though...is there much difference now you've got 18's instead if 16's?? Also...what offset are those rims?
-
Hiya Stevie...welcome to the forum mate mmmmm nice black gal :D going to order the eibach pro kit for mine tomorrow...this gives a 35mm drop and was fitted to the alhambra/sharan sport models.... think i'll be going for a set of 18" rs6 replicas then...
