That looks a neat bit of kit Fred, let us know how you get on....your link isn't working though !!! Mark

Mine does it and so did my audi a4 (same engine as the gal) I had before... IIRC, there is no direct crankcase pressure take-off from a diesel engine to assist the brake servo so this is generated by a small pump on the engine Can't remember exactly (it was in the Haynes manual for the A4) but the 'pedal to the floor' is normal, something to do with the pressure blowing the servo or something....trying to find the full explanation on another forum..I'll post it when I find it.... Dvd Player Unlocking
Marky replied to godimgood99's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
There isn't a region hack for this unit (Visteon MB8000 to answer your other thread) but you shouldn't need one as most 'back-up'( ) DVD's are region-free as part of the back-up process. As Tone said earlier, if you are doing them yourself take a look at the link he gave you, there are plenty of 'walkthrough' guides for beginners. I've had no problems with mine..... :D :D -
Come on then Nimrod...how did u get on with the kit...piccies would be great !!!

Fitting An Fm Modulator
Marky replied to Porkstone's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Hi Tim, thanks for the reply, still dubious about dropping the pioneer into it...still got two years warranty left so unless it is a straight iso connector adaptor fit (so I can swap the original head unit back if any probs with the dvd/screens) I'll have to put up with having loads of discs in the glovebox (and no car racing on the pioneer screen  ) Mark -
Fitting An Fm Modulator
Marky replied to Porkstone's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Tim - Thanx for the reply, I've got the 6006 in it at the moment but I've got a Pioneer 8400 MP3 player in the cupboard screaming to be fitted!!! I was dubious because of the feeds to the DVD system, is your dvd factory fit or aftermarket? Did you have any probs sourcing adaptor leads etc ??? MrT - Agreed, a pal of mine had trouble fitting an in-line one to his Audi thats why I was looking out for a wireless one. Mark -

The great thing is you can play the PS on one screen and watch a film on the other !!!! Or hook up two PS's...the screens are switchable to any av input !!! Hey Fred....some of us aren't rich enough to have a dedicated ps2 in the car !!! Hows your 8 seater going ??? :D Mark
-
As Ivor said...leave the video in!! It is actually more useful than the dvd kit because it has more av inputs to allow you to connect more toys!!! Re the Playstation...if its a PS2 you'll need an inverter, search the web as prices vary enormously, I've seen the same model for 99 quid on one site and 24.99 on another !!! If you are hooking up a PS1 you just need the in-car adapter which plugs into the power socket and straight into the PS, you can pick these up on the web or Comet etc. Enjoy your new toys but, as I found, you won't get the benefit of the multimedia system itself, just the peace and quiet it brings !!! VAG.COM is a free utility based on the Audi/VW tool..it is free to download the s/ware from here... www.ross-tech.com All the info you will need is on here along with the different versions for different vehicles. All the cable info is on there as well, once you have sorted the cable you need do a search on ebay, there are plenty on there in the region of 70 quid though  HTH Mark

Don't know exactly how much they are but I think they are well under a tenner from the dealers...they are always advertised on ebay but often go for more than this....give the dealers a ring...
