  1. The multimedia kit will not power up unless it receives a feed from the headunit (when u turn on the headunit it sends a voltage to the centre console) not at home so can't check the TIS but i seem to remember that there might be a fuse under the drivers seat....
  2. OK. Here's the final offer: 60% discount (on wheels, centre caps and fitting) + 12months guarantee + Keep old wheels. In reality the existing wheels really aren't that bad at all and should fetch a good price to recover some of these costs. At least then slightest blemish on the new ones and straight round to Ford Man for another set !! I'd take there hand off for that and ,as you say, full inspection every week!! Well done! seatkid.....i'm from Brum, we can't afford Burberry up here...not even the fake stuff <_<
  3. i think we are all in for a shock over the next 12 months! Just changed the reg plate on mine and the new insurance doc/schedule listed a policy price that was
  4. If this doesn't work, open the bonnet, close it and try again.....
  5. Oh man!!! Done all the right things...always on auto...run on 'LO' once a week in the winter months and all has been fine until two days ago when the 'chill' started to subside!! Now blowing just warm air but no flashing from the CC unit?? Booked in at the dealers for Monday morning, thankfully still got two months warranty left! Am I right in assuming that there should be no reason for a 'regas' unless you've actually got a leak or does this R134a refridgerant need topping up/changing after a certain amount of time? I just know that the dealers will come at me with 'a bill for regassing as this is not covered by the warranty' so want to be armed with some ammo to throw back at them!! Cheers, Mark
  6. I argued this one as well Ivor but it is there in black and white...they class them as 'trim' but also told me they were classed as a wear and tear item as well!! Just to rub salt into the wounds I was doing a speedy three point turn outside the house today and rather than hold someone up for another 10 seconds I decided to scrape about 10 inches of the rim against the kerb!! AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!! Took a lump out of the tyre wall as wel....MOT failure coming up.... ;) ;)
  7. you can get the blanking plate to cover the hole left when you fit a single din unit...you can actually get them from the dealers cheaper than the autoleads ones from halfords!!
  8. Don't think they did one for the Gal but the one they fitted to the focus/ka will probably fit but will stick out a bit.....the changer won't read mp3 discs though....
  9. Well...I asked!!! They had my car from 7:30am the day that they were being changed, they phoned me at 5:15pm to tell me that my car was ready but they would have to have it back for another day as they had ordered the wrong wheels!! I told them I wanted to keep the old wheels as they were mine, they told me I couldn't as they were being replaced under warranty! I pointed out that I was making a payment for the wheels (even though ford were paying 95%) and they were not being changed under warranty but as part of a goodwill gesture (huh!) They still told me NO! Ford directs answer to this was 'as you are paying part of the cost of the replacements the wheels will be covered by a 12 month guarantee, if they were replaced FOC there would have been no guarantee' I gave up in the end..... but as it looks like you will be paying a bigger chunk for them I would stand my ground and get them out of them, they are legally yours afterall!! keep us posted kiddo
  10. Disconnect the av input unit then run a straight live from the battery to the mfd to see if it powers up...the av input I've got fitted needed one of its live feeds bridging (cutting) as it would try and feed the aux av input to the mfd thinking it had a reverse camera fitted....
  11. Every problem I've had has never been questioned (not had many though) I was lead to believe that the ford direct warranty was more comprehensive (as it covers you for higher yearly mileages) than the standard warranty. Don't forget the fact that your gal still has a three year warranty from new i.e if you bought your car from ford direct at 6 months old when your 2 year ford direct warranty expires you would still have 6 months of the original 3 year warranty remaining...soz, a bit confusing and I've had a couple of beers but I hope that makes sense!! Give Ford customer services a ring...you never know you might catch them on a good day!!!
  12. As I stated earlier in this thread...bite the bullet and go and get the rubber genuine ford ones...you won't be disappointed, they may be more than you can get a set from ebay but the set my mate bought as 'laser cut from original mats' must have been 'laser cut' with a penlite torch on a set of mk1 cortina mats!!!! Say no more!! As an addition to this it may well be time to go and get mats/mudflaps/nets etc etc...alll the things you said you would get 'next time you passed the dealer' but haven't as yet....the reason being that if you look for galaxy accessories on ford.co.uk it only shows you the new gal stuff...won't be long before you get the 'sorry, not available any more' spiel from the dealer...you have been warned!!
  13. I did price one up when I first got the Gal and seem to recall that they are about 100 quid. Ford do a different one which has another mesh piece to seperate the rear space so you can put the dog on one side and luggage on the other without the worry of the luggage sliding around and hurting your pup...depends on the size of your dog though...I've got a St Bernard that kinda fills the whole of the back and couldn't get over the second row of seats for all the chews at Pedigree!! Might be worth a call to the dealers first though....
  14. I've been on my way to get them twice and something else has cropped up to eat the money!! :D So don't hold your breath!!
  15. As Ivor said they don't fit...you are really driving a vw so you need to be looking for the following fitment: PCD = 5x112 Offset = 45 Centre bore = 57.1 Basically anything thats fits an audi a4/a6 will do the job but don't forget you need reinforced/extraload tyres for the big ol' Gal !!! HTH Marky
  16. Another excuse for me to post this ??? Cmon Ivor....that boot looks as untidy as it did 2 1/2 years ago....I can't beleive you haven't tidied it up :D  :D ....thinking about that comment I can't beleive you haven't put anything else in there!!!
  17. Hehehe...you can always try and respray them yourself first, then if you are not happy with them you can get them done by the pro's....this'll give you more money to spend on the old vin rouge!!! Have a great time.... Dropped them an email and was quoted
  18. Looks like it will do the job and is a good price at 60 quid but IT IS NOT A GENUINE FORD ONE.... just for starters they are black!!! here is a genuine one....it is listed as a vw sharan one but they are exactly the same and fit perfectly... VW Sharan Dog Guard
  19. Hiya steve....I've been told to fit 235/40/18's as these are xtra load 95 rated low pro's....
  20. Hehehe...you can always try and respray them yourself first, then if you are not happy with them you can get them done by the pro's....this'll give you more money to spend on the old vin rouge!!! Have a great time.... Dropped them an email and was quoted

  24. I won one of these on ebay last week and I'm well impressed with it!! It cools down to 0c and heats up to 60c to keep your takeaways warm!! Loads better than the standard stuff from halfords if you can find one at the right price! dealer list price is
