Where did he go to get that done? Local paint sprayers? Sounds a bargain Ivor...there are loads of places in Brum that will do a same day refurb on all four wheels for about

Hi Welcome to the forum....don't take this question the wrong way but have you tried adjusting the contrast in the settings menu? Just a thought, might get it bright enough to use? Also try adjusting the 'lights on/lights off' settings, you can set it to either/or... If that doesn't work pm me and I'll send you the name/number of a guy in Bromsgrove who may be able to help/point you in the direction of a repairer... mark

Welcome to the club!!! It is a well known issue with these wheels (and the same ones on the Mondeo) though Ford will never admit it! I had two brand new ones just over 12 months ago and they arestarting to go again already! I think it is a poor quality laquer over the wheels which are a mixtureof being polished/painted. I'm in two minds whether to get them refurbed (about 100 quid) but just have them painted and lose the polished bits or buy a new set of rims/tyres......I've always fancied a set of 18" RS6's and I'm gonna need some tyres soon...... From 2004 the ghia alloys changed COMPLETELY and you can no longer spec the wheels that we have which might tell you something.....you could try ford customer service to try and get a token gesture from them but you'll probably get the 'alloy wheels are only warranted for 12 months from new' answer .....

Hi Peter...answer to your questions... 1. Yes!! 2. You'd have 2 metal cages so you should be able to 'tie' these in together somehow or maybe just a small piece of foam between the two units? Something you may have to 'adjust' once you've fitted them. 3. F1319217 (BEZEL ASSY)

Not sure about the VHS version but with the DVD Multimedia set up you have to point the remote control at the screen NOT the dvd player to power the unit up. This stumped me after being stumped by not having the head unit on!!!

They hold the seat belt so you don't catch the belt as you get in....

Well, the so called technicians have had my Gal for two days to do the Flywheel recall and a 30k service, they called me to say it was ready apart from the radio code needed entering and had I got it? I explained that I did and I would sort it out when I got it back so along I went to collect it and here is the list of problems they left me after giving them my car for two days and

Decent Ford Dealership In Brum?
Marky replied to raymac's topic in Dealer Service and Reliability (Galaxy)
Hi Raymac, welcome to the forum! I just dropped mine at Bristol Street Motors, Garrets Green for a 30k service and flywheel recall...I'll let you know how I get on with them! I definately would NOT recommend their dealerships in Shirley or Moseley! My brother uses Heartland Ford in Erdington for his Focus and hasn't had any trouble with them! Hope this helps Mark -
Hijacker...Gal in at the dealers today for flywheel recall and 30k service! Ordered the parts from the parts dept and they gave me... FORD FORMULA E 5W-40 SPEC! Told the guy it was the wrong oil and gave him the old number I had (1130310) to be told that it had been replaced by 1343522 and he came back with a nice 5 litre can of FORMULA S/SD Fully Synthetic...checked the back of this can and it lists it as 505.01 spec so happy with that (the forumla e he gave me in the first place did not list the 505.01 spec). I checked the can of the old Formula SD and its deffo semi...I'll post a piccie of the cans when I get the motor back in two days (hopefully with everything crossed!)

Welcome to the forum John!

Does anyone know why Ford Formula SD has changed from Semi Synthetic to Full Synthetic over the last 8 months? Just ordering mine for the service to be told that the number I had has been replaced by the number listed by Hijacker but now synthetic?

Booked mine in at the local dealers yesterday, they were fully aware of the recall and then told me it was at least a 'two day job'!!! No chance of a courtesy car even though they are 'repairing' a manufacturing/ engineering fault on my 25 grand car !!!! This may sound a bit over the top but I would advise anyone to take pictures of their Gal before it goes to the dealer, exterior and under the bonnet/undertray. Ford 'technicains' are not renowned for their ability to follow the good ol' Haynes process of 'refitting is a reverse of the above procedure' !!!!! Can we please try and keep this post going with your experiences (good or bad) when this recall has been completed. Good Luck

Nice....!!! I will eventually save enough for a set of 18's of the same style!!

Bite the bullet and order a set from Frauds...they do differnet colours to match your trim or you can go for the rubber ones with the ford logo! I plumped for the front rubber ones...about 20 quid and fit perfectly and super quality. Don't forget to barter with your friendly ford parts man.. he'll give you 10% discount without too much creeping !!!!

JK Don't waste your money!!! We've got a St Bernard (and a staff cross) and with seats 6 & 7 taken out the middle row of seats are that high that they won't even attempt to get over them! A as your new pup will know no different you won't have a problem (apart from walking an 11 stone animal that wants to meet everyone and everything!!) Good luck with your new arrival !!! Marky

Had my recall notice today...don't think the VOSA Site is up to date yet.. Just got to find a dealer you can trust to do the job!!!

Anyone Know How To Remove The Clocks On A Mk2?
Marky replied to muffking's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
There is already a speed pulse wire that goes to the back of your head unit.. it is violet in colour and is normally on a plug on its own...if this will do the job it will save you the nightmare that is clock removal !!!! -
S max for you then Ivor !!!

Have a look here... Soundlinx Acoustic Science They do interface leads for most aftermarket changers (pioneer/sony etc) If you speak to them and tell them that you are installing it yourself they will send you one otherwise they will give you a list of suppliers. HTH Mark
