New Drive Belt Causing Problems
mk2vr6 replied to Galaxy Ghia Gal's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
has he routed the belt correctly? if he put it over the ac compressor and not under! it will run in reverse! in that case would the resistance on the now new wider belt be enough to stall the engine? as for why the origanal belt failed? when was it changed last? -
as in the smelly external oil burner or the internal rear heater? you should have both!

to speed up the demisting process, pumping dehumidfied air onto the screen demists it quicker

1.9tdi Throttle Position Sensor
mk2vr6 replied to dab1hand2's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
up under the dash on the throttle pedal arm -
give it a quick coat of epoxy resin to reseal it once its dry, also clean the throttle body and the intake hoses, remove any oil residue from the hoses and when did you last change the oil and air filter? then give it a real good run and get it hot before the retest, blow the crap out the engine/exhaust

for the optional extras you have to open the link :P http://services.chrysler.co.uk/pdf/accessories_voyager.pdf then you can see whats available :16: it's as you say they sell vehicles at a set spec/price, the higher the spec the higher the price! then if you wish you can add the options, they do it this way to keep their prices down and their orders from the factory simpler, from what I could gather you buy the vehicle at a set spec and then the dealer fits the optional extras you want after the car is delivered! that way the factory only makes three or four models and can turn them out quicker none of this 5/6 months waiting like several members have had with their galaxy's! the way ford used to be! you can have it today in black or..... black the choice isnt yours :D

the hand brake is a cable operated mechanical system, where the two cables join to the compensator there is a big spring which purpose is to pull the lever down and hold it down! without this spring you will have to push the hand brake lever down and hold it down! http://www.vagcat.com/p/B162/711500.png

Winter Tyre Life Vs Ambient Temperature
mk2vr6 replied to JohnR's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
no idea? but the design of the tyre is specificall designed for use in colder and wetter conditions! in most case a winter tyre has a higher silica for a better grip on snow and ice, has more sipes and a deeper tread pattern to displace water and dig deeper in the snow to get a better bite! apart from that? you got them cheap so unless your going to keep them till your trip to the slopes? keep an eye on them and see how they go? -
the difference in price being that with the dealer/local garage you WILL get new parts not recon parts as has been the case with mr clutch! 20K waranty? mmm mine didnt do 2miles yet alone 20 before it failed after they fitted it!

Iso Lead Adapter Advice For Upgrade
mk2vr6 replied to jamesey's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
the head unit will still have a set of standard speaker outputs, with the correct iso lead you will be able to use the standard speakers hence the use of a PC2-70-4 lead or as you were told when you asked last time as you have the ford factory fitted amp? http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=15555 a pc3-300 lead should do the job -
what was wrong with the local one in the autotrader ad?
