mk2vr6 replied to me myself and I's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
what rear heater? the internal one or the external one? as the internal one should run what ever the external temp is? -

Quickclear Screen Problem
mk2vr6 replied to crafty's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
try german french and swedish for the pollen filter, theirs comes with a nice set of pictorial intructions that most idiots can follow ;) as for the screen? it's lost a few elements so it's time to replace it as its a none repairable item -
sounds like you've popped a fuse or the stalk has failed if the hazards are still operating and the indicators are not thats how the parking lights operate so thats ok ;) deny everything and run like hell your screwed for life otherwise

Central Locking With Key.
mk2vr6 replied to Rob S's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
the oe alarm without ultra sonic sensors is tripped by either opening the doors, the bonnet, the rear hatch or by smashing the rear screen! if the alarm is only tripping on opening certain doors then you have duff switches! these are mounted on the B post or on the rear door arch cut out, as you say you can hear the doors locks working only on certain doors it does sound like you have loom problems as suggested earlier -

no where as you dont have ac for the rear, you have a recyling unit in the rear that either heats or blows ambient temp air around via the vents in the rear quarter panel trim, or you blow ac air to the rear via the vents at floor level behind the hand brake -
Central Locking With Key.
mk2vr6 replied to Rob S's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
when you say alarm 3 door you mean the alarm only sounds if you open the other doors? in that case it's possible you have three duff door switches, the switches serve several purposes, operating the interior light/door ajar system and the alarm, the are two switched outputs on these switches if you loose one of these, one of the afore mentioned functions fails! -
a wire coat hanger and a decent pair of side cutters :)

they rename the pub just for you lot once a month? last time I drank in there it was called the Navigation Inn, always wondered why there was a queue of cars waiting to turn into the car park with no indicators on  now that explains it, a BMW owners club meet :)

far from it, had breakfast on the decking, walked round the local chateau, had lunch in the gardens, back in time to down a few cold beers on the deck as the sun goes down behind the trees and to post a reply to what were really two totally pointless posts about 5/6 seaters from people who dont have much idea of what having a true 6 seater involves? but enough about my bad day, did I mention about the fantastic chateau and the cold beers on the deck? my day really sucked.......... now back to the 6 seat issue...... 6 seaters have arm rests on the seats and the two middle row seats are moved inwards to the center of the car to allow for this feature, so trying to mount a third seat in the middle row is nigh on impossible without removing the arm rests or cutting up the carpet and fitting the seat mount brackets to allow for repositioning the seats to mount three abreast......snigger he said a breast :D some VW Sharans used to come with removable arm rests and a nice little bag for keeping them in.... altogether now ahhh thats cute.... they also had all the floor mount in place to allow for the row of three in the center so to answer the op's question... its well with your ability to convert it to a 2 3 0 set up and use the load cover and if the need arrives fit all 7 seats, IF! the vehicle in question has the center seat, roof mounted seat belt fitted? or your willing to put up with the lap belt only set up? but then again the roof mount set up can fitted by yourself as its been proven by another member, so yes if you want it and are willing to do the work or can put up the odd seating arrangment go fo it
-
duh! a 6 seater is a 2 2 2 set up you cant go 2 3 0 due the arms on the seats, so talking about what you do to get 5 or 6 seats doesnt help! plus the mountings for the middle seat are not in place, although you can fit the mounts and remove the arms to fit the third seat but you may not have the seat belt mount so you will have to rely on the lap strap version

Dvd Electrical Advice
mk2vr6 replied to NICKADAY's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
is there not an aux switching feed on the head unit, to power an amp? this would come on with the radio or the cd and allow the dvd to power up, plus it would kill the power when you pull the keys or switch off the radio where as if your sony unit is like my old one? the electric aerial is only powered when your have the radio on and not when you listen to the cd hence while you cant use it without the unit switched to play the radio -

well theres one of your problems for a starter! you dont run a VR6 on a tight budget! -
we now have gps trackers in all our vans  they know where we are 24/7 and can pull up the data on what times we start the vehicle, sit idling or stop in traffic and our average and max speed for any given time! but its not to catch us out or to be used to monitor our working practices but it's to be used as an aid to help us work more efficiently and help the management plan our work load better if the van is moved outside of working hours rumour has they get an email informing them of this! so I move my van at least 10 times over the week ends just up and down the road  well it has to be moved as the hose wont reach the far side when I wash it and the amount of big delivery trucks that need to squeeze past at week ends...well thats my excuse ;)

because there are enough people out there that shout about how they can re-map your vehicle just with their lap top and give you a print off to prove their claims, a session on a decent rolling road has dissapointed many people! my mate use to run one and the figures people would bandy about after such a re-map were seldom seen!

Self Lifting Tail Gate Strut Rams?
mk2vr6 replied to chicken_arse_legs's topic in Customising your Ford Galaxy
the Chrysler voyager has a electrically operated rear hatch and side door as standard on the top of the range models, why exactly do you want the rear hatch open with the alarm? if the alarm is linked into the central locking it will unlock the rear hatch any way and then to open it you would need to link another solenoid onto the rear hatch mech to operate the door release mech which would then allow the rear hatch to swing open! and possible knock the teeth out of the wife and kids if they get to close! or slam into the parked car/wall/barrier, car park ceiling...... behind you! and then the force needed to close the hatch against the new over powered gas struts would probably tear the mounts off the rear hatch or the car body! have fun explaining to the mrs about her teeth and broken nose
