  1. yes there are two, one at each of the scuttle
  2. IIRC the main cam chain tensioner is a sprocket on a sprung arm arrangment? in between the cams in the head there is a chain guide to stop the chain slap, and on the oil pump chain there are two tensioner/guides, so it could any of these breaking up! and the purpose of these are to keep the cam chain tight so it doesnt jump a cog or move around to much and wear a hole through the covers or the block!
  3. in your case joost, drivers seat ;) but as yours is a 2002 model dont waste your time looking, its not there, and how many airbags do you have?
  4. with the sump removed and the pick up pipe removed the oil pump was probably empty and upon start up the engine had no oil pressure due to pump starvation hence the noise! as to the plasticky bits? probably cam chain tension blades! not a good thing!
  5. I never though it possible for Volvo to make uglier car than the 340 but they proved me wrong and came out with the S60! then really went to town and topped themselves by painting it gold! luckily for you or unluckily? you'll be sitting in it looking out, it's every other poor sod that has to suffer looking at it ;) oh and your kids have taste ;) they must have got that from their mum? :D
  6. water spray technique is a AAA engine job yours has a different system, one coil pack per plug, you can unplug them one at time and see if the problem gets worse or stays the same? then replace the packs that have failed! there was a recall on these coil packs! due to their failure rate! it maybe worth while seeing if yours have been replaced under it?
  7. sounds like a coil pack as gone U/S, if you continue to use it the unburnt fuel can in extreme case damage the cat!
  8. she's gone to look at a mk1 TDI in tourmalard green  so hopefully it will be ok and she'll be back in the fold with a Galaxy, one without that stupid clock on the dash ;)
  9. add them to list of manufactureres not providing spare wheels, well it would easier to list those that do! tbh how many times have you used the spare before? me? 6-7 years of not carrying one and not needing one in all that time, 95000+ miles done in the last two years in my works van and only used the spare once and that was in the last month! either I've been very lucky or your very unlucky?
  10. according to the instructions you only need to replace the fluid and the hose on the conti kit, still at
  11. The result is that my left leg is slowly being cooked, going to the main agent on Tuesday for their opinion mmm I heard he likes his meat well done could you take the long way round to get there?
  12. 2.3 slush box! will cripple you on the school run
  13. mmm nice idea but imagine the damage a loose wheel and tyre could do when flying around in the cabin area! as for the replacement parts for the conti kit, I read that the BMW kit is a better option! with that kit you get a seperate hose to feed the latex solution into the tyre with and not the main hose off the compressor as on the conti kit so you can still use the compressor afterwards http://www.autobestbuy.co.uk/shop/product....rShowBackLink=n buy the whole lot for
  14. try looking on contis web site http://www.conticomfortkit.co.uk/ you can find a local stockist near to you and check out their prices? although I think your stuck with going to the dealers or the local stockists due to the design of the system  I'm afraid they have you by the b@lls if you wish to keep the oe system! and did you see that they state that the tyres should be replaced within 120 miles and that you are limited to 50mph once you have used the sealer in a tyre!
  15. the limit is 75kg on the roof bars, maybe a better option is to strap your mother on the roof and remove the seat she used to sit in and use that space to carry more luggage internally?
  16. because you risk the chance of back feeding dirt in the brake lines back up into the abs valve block or flipping a seal in there, for the time and hassle it takes to bleed the excess fluid out via the bleed nipple it's not worth the risk....cue radio boredom...........
  17. actually no need to remove the screws once you have removed the panel around the control knobs and removed the knobs the switch you want unclips and pulls out through the front of the panel, there are two connections on the back of the switch, the electrical plug and a pair of vacuum hoses, hence the hissing! the switch wears and wont seal the valves properly so you get the constant hissing noise
  18. well good luck with it! you'll need it!
  19. hi to all im john 32 with a v6 n reg galaxy have a wife and a beautiful special little 2 year old girl who has to go great ormand street hospital very regular . my father inlaw has a 2.3 galaxy but it keeps leaking on the drivers foot well really bad as we had huge rain last night the leak was bad have spent today hoovering out the water, please please can anyone help has anyone out there have any ideas as its driving us mad please please please hope you all have a great weekend my regards john So can we decide who has water where , why it's getting in and if the two issues, water ingress and the rusty rear quarter are related? then decide on the best course of action to hopefully solve the problems?

  21. ah a re bodied Chevy Tahoe
  22. import..... Sintra - Chevrolet Venturer :) pain in the butt to get parts for and a three hour job just to change the battery! half the engine bay has to come out!
  23. 225/50/17's according to the paperwork? IIRC? it could be because the Ghia X pack 17'' rims come with run flats which are an expensive option when it comes to replacement time!
  24. actually we in the industry prefer Destiny's childs Bootylicious the chorus is more fitting to our line of work :16:
  25. you say you are getting a decent level of heat output to the screen but not to your feet? are you getting a decent flow of air at both points? if so then you must be getting the same heat output? as both exits have the same heat source! once the heat level is set at the controls it should blow from any of the vents you choose at virtually the same temp! check that you have the same heat output and rate of airflow at both vents? if you have none or low heat output as yours is a TDI first point of call would be to check if the aux heater is firing up?
