  2. Thanks for not biddiing Mirez!! I have both a Mk1 & a MK2 so I thought go for it!! Can't wait to see what happens when a MK2 heater comes up! then you offer me some dosh and see what happens,as ive got 1 sitting in my garage :lol:

  6. NICE 1.not often you can get a serious bargain like that,perhaps if the seller had given it at least until the end of september he might of seen some decent profit. ;) ive even seen the little exhaust go for nearly 30 quid alone.

Batteries only affect remote central locking, not the PATS chip. that i know ;) ,the reason for asking wether the batteries have been changed is the fact the pats key falls out without the owner realizing,countless posts on the subject,and if you havnt done so well worth remembering to glue the chip to the inside of the key.

STEVE thats the same link you kindly gave last night buddy ;) right ive had an idea??? do you think it will be possible to obtain the wire and thread it myself?was thinking of paying a visit to my local cycle shop a proper 1,from years back i seem to remmember you could make up your own cables dunno if you still can,as only 1 side of the cable is fubared wonder if you think its a gooden or not?. there is only 1 scrappy near me and finding a gal there is like finding rocket horse poo.
  9. had already emailed them saif alas its for a mk1.but thanx anyway m8 i will if i have to go and ask at fords but id rather ask on here because theres a lot of peeps who know what there talking about.unlike the dealers.

  11. right have finally had enough of my front drivers window after yet again it failed,took everything apart and finally found that the wire had been bent up and unravelled a bit in the motor,a bit along the lines of these posts, http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...hl=window+motor http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...hl=window+motor now do i require just the regulator and do the wires come with it? or do i also need a new motor? i had a good look and tried to flatten the wires but i think where they sit in the plastic holder(motor)is now rather worn. so which do i need ? also i have read here some conflicting opinions on wether the mk1 gubbins will fit a mk2 some say it will others say no,SO what is the real result on the findings? any help plz peeps regards gregers any 1 got the complete unit sitting in there garage that they want to part with?
  12. went back together and all is working fine again. cool.gif until yesterday when the bloody thing done exactly the same to the missus,so now with the added confindence i set about doing the neccessaries AND guess what its now the lock side clamp that had come lose,now i tightened them both uplast time to the point of eyes closed thinking glass is going to break.now this was more serious as the wires had come off of the white plastic holder AND AS HAS BEEN POSTED BEFORE IT IS A RIGHT MARE TO GET BACK ON,as everything is under tension and just at the point of losing my temper hey presto it jumped onto the little green wheel at the bottom of the door. now the problem ive got is there is a grauncing noise everytime the window goes up and down and it feels/seems to be coming from the motor area,wondering if the motor has shed some teeth on the cog??? if so can you repair it?or do you think a new motor is required or the whole regulator and motor?.

  16. One suspects he may have said something to one of the officers ? mmm my thinking aswell,but i remember being told of this years ago and wouldve thought it was taught more today as tests are meant to be a lot harder.
  17. in the archives it has been posted about the configuration iirc you do not have the room to have 7 captains seats,think it may be possible to fit arm rests to the outer 2 middle seats.

  24. there is a post on vag com in the faqs in the tech section,dunno if its to do with xp or vista. do they not do a vista version of vag???
  25. i knew the petrol 2ltr i had was thristy but thats TERRIBLE.how about giving it a good service,plugs/filters etc to see if that improves things a bit.maybe its missing on 1 or more cylinders and throwing the petrol out of the exhaust?im just wondering along the lines of you saying you have ordered a new cat maybe thats the reason for the orriginal failing???
