i too agree with the above posts, even if it means you buying yourself a reasonable socket/spanner set and the parts you will still be quids in.DEALERS ARE LAST RESORT thats why this forum was set up because peeps were sick and tired of being ripped off. im sure there are detailed instructions on here on how to carryout the necessary repairs. -

2004 1.9 Tdi 130ps Galaxy Oil Change
gregers replied to Brash's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
JD,the oil from halfords is ok,there are a few posts on the subject over the years, and sometimes halfords do a bogoff deal thats the time to buy :( ,make sure you get the correct oil for your car thats the important bit, again read up on the info then you forarmed. i too am a bit like you,bit aprehesive over doing things on the car,but like everything in life give it a go,the more you do the more confidence you gain. im seriously thinking of getting 1 of the oil extractors, will save a lot of time and effort, and as i have a service comming up in the next 1k,i think the oil change is the most difficult part.simply to do the filters and you save yourself a few quid. -

Interior Lights, Courtesy Lights Problem.
gregers replied to shorts's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
i did do a search mate, that's why i said in my post all the wiring going into the boot seems to be in good condition but thanks anyway ;) seems is the word eh, i would defo check again, just because everything looks ok on 1st inspection it has been known that after a lot of searching it comes back to the wiring in the gaitors,(as you have already mentioned)but i would also check the door switches all round these can corrode and might throw up the problems your sufferering from.no harm in double/triple checking things again. -
gordon, you might find that the clutch plate has fallen off and sitting in your under tray,as mine was :D ;) i was luckey i had bought another compressor ff of eabay and with the help of my m8 we changed the plate in situ and lo and behold back working correctly again. but if its been serviced and nothing has been found then your probably right.

well as i still have a partly functioning front drivers window, ive done some searching on ebay and noticed someone selling galaxy/vw window motors but it also included that it fitted a vw polo?after a bit more serching found listings for regulator repair kits under vw.now anyone know if they will fit the galaxys?? as there has been a few posts on the subject this(if they fit)could be a very cheap way of repairing your windows?without spending vast ammounts on a complete regulator, http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=vw+regu...s&_osacat=0 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VIS...em=170380835353 many thanx
