  1. when was the last time you drove it like you stole it,might just need a bloody good thrash?
  2. is the cable still in 1 complete piece?if so then it may require unsiezing?you need to get a load of penetrating oil down inside.
  3. open bonnet (engine off)grab hold of engine block if you can move it then it could well be the engine/gearbox bracket.
  4. welcome to the forum, please take a look within the forum using the search facility top right of the forum, also take a look in the faqs found in the technical section.any info/answers may be in there.
  5. mmm dont sound good, but over the years the advice ive seen is always try replacing the gearbox oil a couple of times to see if it solves it??? before going down a strip down or replacement.

  21. hi peeps just a heads up,the forum is having a few major problems, and as im the only 1 left now to try and keep you riff raff in order lol, thought i better put a shout out out to warn you all. for some reason members do seem able to post up problems but we cannot access them to participate,so it looks like your posts are being ignored, there not,its just members cannot get into them to help you.i have tried on numerous occasions to contact the site owner but this seems to have vanished into the ether. there is lots of info found on most of the problems these cars suffer from and they found in our faqs which is in the technical section of the forum,if it still works please check in there to see if they can help you with any problems you have, i would like to think the webmaster will appear and fix the problems sooner rather then later, because every time the forum has a melt down the forum loses more members which is a shame. i will keep checking in every day as i have been for the last 15 since ive been a member on here, just to see if it is suddenly working properly again, please persevere,it used to be a vibrant site with a lot of knowledge given by members over the years,be a shame to lose it all. laters.
  22. wot he said,on all of it,lol
  23. welcome, dont think theres many of the old gaurd left with a petrol galaxy but fill your boots from the faqs found in the tech section of the forum.
  24. welcome to the forum, ist thing i would do is repair the run on pump info in the faqs this may help your problem with the heater?but ive a feeling if its smoking then a new glow plug is needed.iirc if the heater does shut down fully it will need vag com to remove the fault code,so it may be better to fix the problems before it does.
