Wet Central Locking Unit's Self Help
gregers replied to chazy's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi, I have a 2007 TDCI Ghia galaxy with a very wet ECU unit from under the passenger seat, the problem started from water getting into the footweels from the sunroof drains being blocked. I have removed the unit and sourced a working second hand unit. As i understand it this unit controls the central locking etc but i now have no electrics on the car at all. When you put key in ignition there is nothing not even lights on dashboard and the clock is also out. Could it be blown fuses from the water inside the ECU and if so where should i start looking? Any help would be appreciated! Ant is this a mk3???if so isnt this still under warrenty of some kind??? -
well from whats been posted on here, the panel flashes for approx 15 seconds and this is meant to tell you that theres a problem i:e empty, now your panel doesnt flash probably means something else within the system is faulty.

PLEASE INFORM EVERYONE you know! Emails with pictures of Osama Bin-Laden hanged are being sent and the moment that you open these emails your computer will crash and you will not be able to fix it! 1.) If you get an e-mail along the lines of 'Osama Bin Laden Captured' or 'Osama Hanged' , don't open the Attachment!!!! iirc they just twist off, they have little tabs on the grill and they usually break so you might need a dab of super glue.

maybe so,but iirc when ever a major repair is carried out on the air con, does it not have to be refilled and tested under pressure?.so if thats the case how can a garage hand the car back saying its working fine??,if the aircon doesnt work then it dont work,so surley the job hasnt been done correctley??.

gregers replied to Malc50's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
im surprised your having that much trouble in obtaining a new one?all i did was tell ford the age of the car and they said its either 2 or 4 pin switch, armed with the price from fords(which were bloody expensive) i phoned vw and they said the price was the same for the 2 or 4 pin iirc -

How Safe Is A Galaxy In A Rear End Collision/shunt.

You could be right there Gregers but as far as I'm concerned, I don't care who picks up the tab as long as it's not me. I want to avoid getting stuck in between a "It's not our problem the dealer should pay" and a "it's not our problem the warranty should pay" turf war. i can appriciate what you are saying smitch, but once armed with some knowledge the dealer will not argue with the law(well they might but there be bloody stupid to, :) )i agree as long as it aint out of your pocket who cares, but as previously said i susspect the dealer knows what is wrong with the car and were hoping it wont come back to bite them on the arse,ME i would let it bite :) just for info you have 28 days(iirc)to list all problems with the car and notify the dealer to rectify faults.but plz check this out with the trading standards peeps. -

if you can hear the pump running then at least you wont have to have it repaired, but remember if you do there are intructions in the faqs on how to repair it yourself.
