  1. sorry paul...I miss - read your post
  2. "It seems that VW (who make the Galaxy) don't give a set interval for the cambelt"  see top of page 17 in warranty and service guide................... "CAMSHAFT DRIVE BELT"......Renew,PT-E,CVH,Galaxy diesel (every 5 years or 40 000miles,whichever occurs first) a date (08/2001) is shown on the back of the booklet, perhaps your's is an earlier print?
  3. I'm into my 3rd shalaxy, yep they do got little niggles sometimes, but it's worth it when you consider the overall practicallity [is thst spelt rite?] How many cars dont have bits and pieces?...and remember, you're actually talking about three cars here  what i mean by that is that some people are "VW" people?...they only buy VW's,and were probably unaware that it was 'also a ford'/SEAT  :P well I know what i mean
  4. anyone know how much alloy wheels cost for a facelift galaxy ghia?
  5. Ahem, well I overtake slow drivers on roundabouts for example, unless they block the lanes, but i dont bitch when somebody else overtakes me :o The point I was making is that we should'nt condemn others for doing what we do, but more noticeably..... He acknowledges that he uses fog's as drivings...so thats ok then......even though it may annoy others.... which also annoys me,as I flash mine at them in the hope that they may realise they're on,only to realise that they probably DO know...and dont care....etc...looks good......I got extra lights.....I'm special.....do they match my others? ...etc . . . .drone. . . . . . . . . . . . I too have noted Fredt's absence...I hope he's ok
  6. All mick-fits will price match locally if asked...it's their way of doing buisiness :o They'll sell at a high price to somebody who dont know anywhere cheaper, unless a local lower price is pointed out
  7. HUH,not only does this sound like you're advertising, you also drive a fiesta!
  8. mines just had its 2nd annual service...ford dealer used castrol performance 5w-30 oil. ;) ;) when quized on this I was told not to beleive everything I read on "the net" ;)
  9. costeo...."I use the front fog lights whenever I actually find them handy" :) So,it's ok for YOU to break the rules when it suits you, but not others when it dont suit you? :) "people who live in glass houses" springs to mind....
  10. Only about 75% of us had this problem :)
  11. That usually means there's sufficient hot water for a cup of coffee in the one thats lit
  12. I would describe my current and previous 2 shal's brakes as "soft and gentle" [like fairy liquid :P ]. On odd occasions that friends or family have driven them, they have remarked on this, as has Jeremy Clarkson[well i THINK it was him] with words to the effect of "great car if you like soggy brakes"  I also saw reference to this in one of the 'price guide books...parkers or what car. <_<
  13. 'ring-ring . . . . .ring-ring' "ah, local ford dealership here sir, your cv joint arrived - but it's the wrong one" :) :) "but There ARE quite a few diffrent ones sir! <_< I'm tempted to snatch it back if it aint done by tomorrow, and screw the service history...which dont seem to mean much these days...cant imagine why
  14. :) UH...Nah <_<
  15. Do you know ANYBODY else with a VW 1.9 tdi? Try a temporary swap. It's incredibly easy...all you need to do is go to a motor-spares shop and get a small set of security torx drivers (security can also mean anti - tamper/tamperproof) cost from about
  16. "How many miles do you have on your car?" A mere 10k...almost
  17. ;) If I buy ,say,a 'fridge, I would expect it's warranty to commence on the day I buy it as the RETAIL CUSTOMER. :o Does that seem fair?....regardless of its route into uk,and subsequent "standing time"?....don't all fords "stand somewhere" untill sold? Well It seems thats not the case with ford "imports" It seems My gal was bought in Belguim by/for a birmingham based outfit called something like Motornational,on the 22/01/02. Well i say "it seems" 'cos they "cant confirm that due to the data protection act" Strangely the shiny new style "log" book I just got back from DVLA says it was first registered "NEW" in uk on 04/03/02. Guess when Ford uk says the warranty start date is?, and is there a known issue with CV joints?
  18. "Also, can you swivel the front seats while on the move," er Do we make allowances for mondeo drivers? ;)
  19. found this on ebay 25/01/04 ;)
  20. :D The gal is 02 reg...right?with me so far? :D 02 means it was first registered in uk (new) AFTER 01/03/02...right? :D So it's not quite 2 years old yet.....Right? :D "well sir, It's only got 2 years mfg wty...IF A PREVIOUS OWNER REGISTERED IT WITH FORD UK (IT'S AN IMPORT)...WE'LL HAVE TO CHECK AND GET BACK TO YOU ON THIS!" :D i ALSO GOT A WTY FROM THE SELLING DEALER[NON FORD],SO THEY MIGHT GET A CALL,BUT THE ABOVE LEFT ME GOBSMACKED, I'm waiting for their response wed morning It's only done almost 10,000 miles
  21. worse than wheel balance...the whole car shakes ...sometimes sideways at about 50mph
  22. "Also, can you swivel the front seats while on the move," :) Eh?
  23. :) ugh!, My gal has developed a wobble that "feels" like wheel wobble, but the wheel aint wobbling- Its something else, front end, feels near side. any idea's? :o :) It's just coming up to it's first 10,000 mile service) :),and booked in for tuesday.....the bulb failure warning lamp is also lit but I cant find any bulbs out!
