  1. radials rear and tyre size/type the same on axle ie 195.60/15 on fronts 205.45/17 on back is fully legal
  2. on a run i get approx 80 miles to tenner about doors about 60 tho got a few mods on my engine to piss the chavs off so quite a few foot downs

  5. sombodys ripping you off big time on price its called a maf or mass air flow meter do a search on gsf or eurocar parts for price, quik check unplug it and try the car if its down on power idles worse then your maf is ok if its the same your maf is u/s, do a search on here about it
  6. dont bother with all these fancy filters just simply blank the egr off completly at the inlet manifold ive ran mine for a good 3 yrs now with no egr valve at all used my mates tiny camera thingy and its as clean now as it was when i first done it approx 40k ive put on car. 3 ways to clean it is mr muscle oven cleaner, petrol and then set fire to it or in my case i used good old caustic soda used it for 40yrs to clean carbon off 2 stroke exhausts it turns the ali black but be careful it eats it. Have a look at the yanky forums theres masses of tuning info on there all todo with tdi's. have to put my cat back on as new law out for mot states it must be fitted but a nice tube thru middle of it and hey presto cat but no cat, other new mot rules are if you have towbar electrics it must work, new tester costs
  7. give it a good clean and use silicone if you have any if not the new gasket will sort it, first off tho make sure its not just the 2 bolts slack seems funny to start to leak when its not under any pressure

  10. i aggree its a cow to work on with 2 clips that are nigh on impossible to get back on
  11. check your battery first off and charge if flat but dont use a rapid charger then check ign switch as its sounds like the switch part has faulted on back of barrel hence why engine wouldn't switch off and now a flat battery. By memory the switch is held on with a screw on back of barrel, best to use a meter to check it out or with a good battery the ign lights should switch on and off.

  14. wow dont shout, turn caps lock off. check out the local gumtree etc but look for audi or vw stuff its a lot cheaper and more of them as long as there 112x5 pcd your ok even mercs fit as the gal is a vedub running gear

  17. use a grinder or at least 3 days prior to job spray the nut unit every day to allow to soak thru, falacy about spraying release fluid as you work it needs to soak in
  18. doors lock and unlock from the door key remote or not so when u lock it locks all doors and vice-versa, have a look under passenger seat see if theres a black box there or 2 or or 3 plugs lying, also check the fuse under dash look right up at them very very top near relay cant think of fuse but hiding up there is locking fuse
  19. blank it off and let your engine breathe clean air, first thing i do with tdi's just make a ally plate and stick it on the exhaust side on mine its totally removed so 2 plates are needed. going to get the ""it aids cooling blah blah"" but ive got 160k on my engine and its as sweet as a nut, its a big thing in the states with quite a market for the plates

  21. if the fault is still there it wont clear and is marked as active or perm only the memory can be cleared, sounds to me like the tube inside the ecu has gone it turns "claggy" and sticks together ive change 2 of the pipes to cure limp modes. the ecu is behind the clocks and is held in by 2 torx then unclip cables slide ecu back and wangle it out, open ecu and the pipe is there connected to the map sensor. worth a try as youve tried the norm tests

  23. nope wont work the later cars dont have the unit in same place and is of a different type, the relay is for the rear door soloniod. do it the easy way get a cheap alarm off fleabay that does central locking as well, much much cheaper. thats what i did on my 96 galaxy. ive still got the colour codes somewhere if you need them, btw is yours the ir or radio (av a look near the mirror has it got a roundish unit there)

  25. thats correct its only there for a few seconds then goes off only comes back on when engines turning over works as a safety thingymebob (thats where i take my feed off for led running lights)when you crack open a injector dont expect a spray of fuel as that only happens at nozzle tho you should get fuel coming out. Have checked and pump is not coded to ecu so do what i first said and take wire off cut off valve and give it a 12v supply direct to try that, could also be the actual valve itself may be worth taking it out to check.
