Galaxy Maf No Resistor.
zorgman replied to sparkypete's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
cos ford are greedy so n so's. yours could be the type where you cant see it. to see if maf is working drive car along road then unplug maf and try the same, if cars worse maf is fine if now difference its caput. dont blame the maf for limp mode it may well be n75 or turbo. now then right up page theres a search bar try using that before asking about n75 -
his good mechanic, how the hell does oil get in the coolant if the pump is at fault. id go for head gasket causing it or cracked head as youve just got car it could be owt. long distance diagnosing isnt always right

No Cabin Heat - Got Us Puzzled
zorgman replied to NikpV's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
had a think about this one and all this happened since water pump got changed, so i reckon its down to the pump or now im not sure here the stat is acting itself as 5mph difference seems to make the fault come on how i dont know but id deffo go for pump. water into the heaters is force fed whereas the radand engine will use convection. -

the flashing led means alarm is on dont confuse it with programming. all i can advise is that your not putting car into the correct progging mode, give it more goes as an eg ive no locks on mine apart from boot so have to use that lock and you can feel between locking unlocking easier than doors give it a go to get the hang of it for doing the progging. so i do the 3 turns which is very quick it just needs a small turn then wander to front to do the deed. even tho i8 know what im doing and have done it loads of times its still a "knack"

when you put car into programming mode you have to turn key fast if the door led doesnt flash it aint done proper

No Cabin Heat - Got Us Puzzled
zorgman replied to NikpV's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
what he means is when theres no heat from the front unit switch on the rear see iff any heat comes from there, i lean towards air lock, then again this is a strnge one ill think about it but lets know about the rear cabin heater as that will give us some clues a to whats going on -
if it did all the above and done all its flashing it means its programmed to the car, if you need a new remote you need exactly the same type as used on the galaxy. remember the car is made by vw

ere you go, amazing what you can find using a search engine such as google. The operating frequency (418Mhz or 433.92Mhz) is close to those used by MoD communication, radio amateurs and other common applications.

as in the faqs. Note: The GEM will exit programming mode automatically if four remote transmitters have been programmed or if no new remote transmitter has been programmed within the 15 second programming mode. 1. Close all the vehicle doors. 2. Note: Make sure the door lock cylinder is held in the unlock position for more than 0.5 seconds. Insert the key into the driver door lock cylinder and turn the key from the rest position to the unlock position three times within five seconds. 3. The door lock light emitting diodes (LED)s will illuminate for 15 seconds during the remote transmitter programming mode, allowing the remote transmitter to be programmed. 4. Remove the key from the driver door lock cylinder and aim the remote transmitter at the interior rear view mirror. 5. Press and hold the LOCK button on the remote transmitter. 6. While holding the LOCK button down, press the UNLOCK button three times on the remote transmitter. 7. Release both buttons simultaneously. 8. Make sure the door lock LEDs flash five times, confirming that the remote transmitter has been programmed. 9. After a remote transmitter has been successfully programmed, the GEM will reset the programming mode, allowing a further 15 seconds to program the next remote transmitter. 10. To program additional remote transmitters, repeat steps 4 to 8. 11. Make sure that all the doors lock and unlock, confirming that the GEM is no longer in programming mode. 12. Test all the programmed remote transmitters, by activating and deactivating the locking and unlocking functions.

Cost To Replace Pas Pump
zorgman replied to DaveL's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
2 pipes one belt and is it 3 bolts, tops 1hr tho depends on if you have under tray and how good/crap the garage is. (i dont trust garages one little bit with anything, it seems they are all starting to use auto-data times for labour costs. -
you need to turn temp to cold, its a good tip to sw fan on if your ever think engines hot. glad its sorted for you

2 types of mk1 infra red and radio, yours is radio so here you go, not sure why it went dodgy but taking batts out makes it lose info. try this for mk2 Insert the ignition key and turn from position II (Ignition) to position 0 (All off) and back four times within three seconds. Remove the ignition key. The locking control system is now in "learn mode" for the next 20 seconds and the red warning system LED (By the clock) stays on continuously to indicate this. During the 20 seconds press one of the transmitter buttons. The remotes signal and code number is learned by the locking module and is indicated by flashing the warning system LED. Wait until learn mode times out (20 seconds) or switch the ignition back to ON.

ooh ooh (waving hand in air) easy this one its the tailgate wires snapped in the rubber tube causing the fault the rhs tube, dont join wires but insert new wire or itll snap again. with regards to your remote not working just reprogram it as the the faq's at top
-
on the sensor plug theres 2 wires just short them together that will make the fan run, tdi engines run cold so not worried about it plus i know sensor and fans are ok, if yours has aircon switching it on will switch fan on
-
welcome. right then what engine you asking about. my tdi's fan has never kicked in once in the 4 years ive had car. what you need to do is short out the sensor for the fans its on the top hose or radiator
