  2. I did have a similar problem once ...... took it to the dealers ........ "did it happen when the Mrs was driving?" ...... " Yes and its stayed on ever since" ....... "well you have a Ghia and its nothing to do with the airbag" ................ Its the OLDBAG warning light to tell you she's been driving it!!!! :D :D
  3. Copy and pasting from other sites? ...... mmmmmm ....... aup? I am surprised at you Mum.
  4. So why are you posting this mum? ....... you're really a man then? Like these ...... 25: It is acceptable for you to drive her car. It is not acceptable for her to drive yours. 26: Thou shalt not buy a car in the colors of brown, pink, lime green, orange or sky blue.
  5. Why would you want to do that mate? ...... Why not just buy a Mk 2. By the time you've swapped everything over the Mk 1 will be an antique anyway ....
  6. Id seriously think about where you're going to put the nuclear reactor to power the 1000W amp before you think about the speakers mate!!! 1000W?!!! ..... I assume thats peak power? .... blimey that'll draw more current than the starter motor.
  7. Yes, Happy Birthday to all of you ...... hope you have a lovely day and get some time in youngsters, you're making me feel old !!!!!!!!!
  8. Hiya Mez ....... welcome from me and I also pull a tin tent (when i've got rid of all the damp!) ..... like that. There are loads of really helpful people on here who have helped me on numerous occasions. Look forward to your posts mate. Chris

  14. This made me giggle this morning ...... wouldnt the world be a better place if the "women of today" followed this example ...... :(
  15. Sounds reasonable to me Pal ...... Probably mad if you tried putting the seats in the washing machine with the armrests still fitted. :(
  16. Solo .... what you you need to find out is whether your existing system runs off the CAN-BUS or the newer IP-BUS. I know my CD changer runs off the CAN-BUS so that it can interface with the MFD. Ideally, the newer MFD 2 system is what you are after and it would be interesting to see if the newer Galaxy has a similar system, if so, then it might be worth contacting a VW dealer who may be able to provide you with a unit. Sounds to me as though they are pulling a fast one as they are quite difficult to fit. Expensive mind you! I would contact a good ICE dealer and have a chat with them regarding CAN-BUS etc. Hope this helps Chris
  17. Got a spare key off ebay, got it cut and it works the locks/ignition but i cant seem to program the chip Has it got a chip billy?
  18. gain??...whats that??.....but why would it all happen today when ive had no probs up to now? oops...sorry....had to reconnect. Gain is basically turning the signal up louder ..... trouble is it might turn up the noise too if the line is noisy ..... you can always tell them you have a poor signal to noise ratio on your line ..... that'll get em thinking .... ;) http://www.tiscali.co.uk/help/broadband/cablesetup.html http://www.broadband4lhanbryde.co.uk/information/speed-test/ http://www.exetel.com.au/c_dropout.php These links should help Mum
  19. Mum would agree with jk ...... there are outstanding issues around here with BT who provide the lines and the biggest problem was noise on the line. The other thing you can try is to ask them to turn up the gain on your line. That has worked for a number of my colleagues. The CPU usage is just showing how much processing it is doing ..... in your case very little ...so thats good .... the PF is the Page file or the virtual memory and 277Mb is about right if you have 512Mb of RAM. Its not the PC thats the problem.
  20. This cheered me up this morning
  21. a buzzer.....? uuuggghhh ..... What you want is a nice repeating "ping" like mine.
  22. Galaxy front passenger door handle my a**e! ....Its Thunderbird 4!!!!!!!! ...cue music
  23. Perve B) Dont tell me you've never sniffed seats Dave? The other way to tell is when the dog absolutely refuses to get in it. ;) :)
  24. Hi Neil ...... first thing I would give the carpets and seats a really good sniff! ..... if you can smell curry and vomit then its a good chance that it has been used as a Taxi.
  25. Amazing discovery Posted: Thu Mar 22, 2007 5:23 pm A major research institution has recently announced the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element has been named "Governmentium." Governmentium has 1 Neutron, 12 Deputy Neutrons, 75 Assistant Neutrons and 224 Deputy Assistant Neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called Morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of Lepton-like particles called Peons. Since Governmentium has no protons or electrons, it is inert however, it can be detected because it impedes every action with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of Governmentium will cause any reaction or process, no matter how rapid or energetic, to take 28 days to complete. Governmentium has a normal half-life of 5 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a constant structural change in which a portion of the Assistant Neutrons and Deputy Neutrons exchange places at random. Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time since the structural changes cause more Peons to be created, Morons to become Deputy Assistant Neutrons, etc whilst the unpromoted particles do not vanish but become static Isodopes of their original form. This characteristic of endless Peon creation and particle promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium will implode leaving no trace whenever Morons reach a certain quantity in concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as "Critical Morass." However, when a near-critical morass of Governmentium is catalysed with sufficient amounts of money, Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element which, although slightly lighter than Governmentium, has the unique ability to absorb huge amounts of energy to no observable effect. It is practically indestructable and defies all known means of change. To get it to move is extremely difficult, but once moving, it is nearly impossible to stop or get it to change direction. Although research continues, this is thought to be due to Administratium constantly reducing the number of Peons by half but at the same time doubling the number of Morons, Deputy Assistant Neutrons and Assistant Neutrons.
