  1. Couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things. During a checkup, the doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair. "Want anything while I'm in the kitchen?" he asks. "Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?" "Sure." "Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?" she asks. "No, I can remember it." "Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write it down, so's not to forget it?" He says, "I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries." "I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that, write it down?" she asks. Irritated, he says, "I don't need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream - I got it, for goodness sake!" Then he toddles into the kitchen. After about 20 minutes, the old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs. She stares at the plate for a moment. "Where's my toast ?"
  2. Hi Pete and welcome to the forum. What type of Galaxy did you buy then? ........... bet it's not as good as mine? :D
  3. Possible, but reverse flushing ensures all the rubbish comes out.
  4. I know mate ...... the thing is mine doesn't when I'm towing uphill ... in fact, the temp reading doesnt move on mine whether or not the vans attached, so yes, the engine will get hotter but the heat should still be exchanged to air via the radiator ..... mmmmmm ... reverse flushing the radiator?
  5. Yep ...looks very similar to mine ..... just have a look at the rubber seal around the inner pressure bit and when you screw it back on you should feel some resistance around the last two turns as the seal meets the bottle lip.
  6. Hiya Nikki ...welcome to the forum ..... mmmmm ....childminding hey? ..... I could do that ...... with some duck tape and some tie wraps. :16:
  7. Welcome from me too ..... " I ....... I just took a ride...... to the other side of the sky ....... it's an electric glide (I think from what I remember of that song)" Thats a blast from the past .........
  8. Welcome from me to Paul .......just doowin the rowd from yow. What you need to find is someone with VAG-COM to have a quick diagnostic ..... mmm ..I must get on and get myself a cable at some point.
  9. Just have a quick look at the seal in the expansion cap matey before you take it .... I've known the cap to cause similar problems.
  10. JK ...sounds to me you have an air leak somewhere. In your case and now you have booked it in, a coolant system pressure check will find the problem whether it be a porous hose or the head gasket. You mentioned the expansion tank overflowing .... is that when you remove the cap? It will anyway when the engine's at operating temp. Hopefully the dealers will find the problem matey.
  11. Useful info ...... thanks Charlie
  12. To be honest I'm not sure matey ... all I've seen somewhere on here is that it has to be enabled. I get no audible or visual warning when the caravan electrics are attached so I've got to the same to mine once I've sorted my van out. Just found this .... the light is activated by adding 08 to the software coding on Module 9 Central Electronics using VAG-COM. Bigdaddy - I think the software needs to be registered in order to recode modules. The electronics sense the additional load created by the extra indicator bulbs thus triggering the towing light I am glad i can get rid of that damned buzzer though:)
  13. You'll have to get it enabled using VAG COM Charlie ...still got mine to do some time .....
  14. JKS ..... buy yourself a damp tester please and test the van thouroughly for damp ...I learnt the hard way!
  15. To be honest Bryan you're better off staying away from the cheaper ones .... http://www.airmassmeters.com/
  16. Totally agree Mum ...... even the Bosch ones for a Galaxy will have different part numbers depending on the modification state as I found out a few months back.
  17. I'd get that big dent fixed in the passenger door as well ......... what dent? ....... THAT DENT!!
  18. mmmmm ...sorry to hear you're not having much luck here mate ....... just had a thought ..... Wind Tunnel ...... Anyone know someone who works or can help because I'm pretty sure this will show up the problem .... might be worth a try.
  19. Hi Dave ...... you need to speak to Tim_Spam on this one as he's done a lot of research and helped me out when I had a similar problem. Have a looky here, these might help: http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...l=n75&st=15 http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...5920&hl=n75
  20. I'm about as much use as an ejection seat in a submarine when it comes to games ...... problems with with with the hand to eye interface. Any chance of the old ping - pong game? I was good at that cos if you moved the bat up and down fast enough you were bound to hit the ball ..... no better not ..... arthritis in the wrists now..... or is that from too much ............ ?
  21. Hey forget the Vauxhall Vectra ...... and I know you have seen this before ....... and get all the kids in it !!!! ........ just the job!
  22. I wouldnt ......whats the chance of it happening again if the wiring's sub standard in the first place? .....
  23. What about sourcing a loom from a scrappy??..loads of peeps out there breaking galaxys.. Eh? ...... best I go and break mine then before they nick all the bits .... No, judging by the quality of the wiring I've seen on mine its not surprising that wiring looms catch fire. Havent got a clue about what's caused yours matey and to be honest, you are better off with a new loom as you dont really know what else could have been affected, even with the ECU fuse blowing.
  24. You should be able to ...... just be careful on the airbag unit tests. Have a look at the VAG COM issues and do a search on here ..there's loads of info.
  25. Bodgerd ..... was this ever sorted matey?
