Hi QUEENIE, Welcome to the forum, To remove door card you will first need to remove black cover behind door latch plain dinner knife works best .Then you will see screw. The panel is held on by yellow clips don't worry if you brake a few there's loads anyway give the panel a hearty pull. Then you see grey membrane. To remove handle open door and you will see 3 hex screws they will undo with ordinary allen key when you take apart handle take aphoto with mobile/camera first so no forgetting how it goes together. To remove key the bareel will need to come out of handle should just fall out if key is right key...might be worth going scrappy's and getting spare handel first.

Brake Problem, Could This Be The Servo?.
cyborg replied to darren's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
If the brake fluid is low there's always a reason, rarely is it a poorly fitted fluid cap . You may have a split pipes, front hose's check for leaky brake seal's .Safest option is to take each wheel off and thoroughy inspect brake's and all lines leading to Abs and servo. -
Brake Problem, Could This Be The Servo?.
cyborg replied to darren's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
hi there, Do you red flashes like hand brake on when its not ? get some dot4 remove scuttle tray Low brake fuild can also give the effect you've described. possible brake switch on foot peddle for other problem. -
hi there, just a few idea's. Valve spring sounds like a red herring have you done compression test ?As chris suggested. Also check your wires for arching..And split in wires going to coil. Try disconnecting your battery for 5 mins and let engine relearn the best setup. Is your oil old tired and wrong type causing Sticky Valve now weather is changing Should be 5w-30 .

Heater Blowing Cold Air Only
cyborg replied to waynep0's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi there, Suggest you get Vag com Or borrow it. As your Automatic climatic am afraid its Eletric's and motors .The systems with dials, its easier mostly cloths wire control. So in meantime Suggest stick on rear heater, open all roof vents, turn off front heater and use heated window control to get you by.Oh and put on your heated seats. There's a number of things it could be Sunlight sensor centre of dash faulty, making system switch to cold air . Flap motor failure behind dash. cyborg replied to rwtomkins's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Mind you I can see sparky paul's view also ; Lets say you go on jolly to south of France overloaded with bucket and spade 26 degree heat 10 hour drive ,hit a pot hole on Les Gorges du Verdon at 60 The tyre might react like Simmie Black  . Go with the best load you can't afford is my best advise. Also make sure you have big parachutes fitted to car! -

will need to find somewhere senic for it to pose.so while it was cloudy today,Got a new polish stick for buffer today to get wheel trims like glass. I used my secret spray mix of vingar water and blue cloth on buffer plus towel to get years of film dust green mold etc off.put on one coat of canarbra wax then switched to xpaste. and found paint code to sort light scratchs on http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do Registration Date: 11.11.1997 Registration Country: GB Primary Features Build Date: 04.07.1997 Vehicle Line: Galaxy Body Style: 5 Door Saloon Version: High Plus Series Engine: VW 2.8 EFI V6 Transmission: AG4 Drive: RHD FWD Air Conditioning: Automatic Air Conditioning Territory: (+)"GB" Paint: Mica Stone Interior Fabric: Warwich obtained an original foot mat with blue trim when I got the bonnet + grill. Maybe I should try and keep her and do one of those ground up resto's hmmm -
I have come across a galaxy ultima 1997 which has just 50000 miles posh kids school runner! I liken it to finding the grail, the ultima has been handed through a family .So I bought it from london and fixed it (mass air sensor) It has service history til 30k and same garage mots for last 6 years. It had a bodged grill repair so sourced an original match. The cream carpet has been covered with a original full length cover so under neath the carpet is new!!As is driver mat.The pedal's amd steering wheel have minimal wear . Its drives better than any galaxy I have ever had. I spent 4 hours shining the original wheel trims.lol.Another 6 just body cleaning with canarbra wax. It wouldn't take much for it to be a concours show car and am sure there isn't meny like it left as often broken for trim seats etc. This is bespoke as it gets. Had it on ramps no rust! original exhaust ! Now here's the crunch I Spent a long time dreaming about owning one unfortunatly. I do not have space to store it or the time to keep wheels shinny. This car is for the enthusiast,I hope it goes it a collector who has time to spend to get it ready for concours.Or someone who justs needs a break with a good car. At the moment this car is strickly for owners club members first. I couldn't believe the miliage. I was like yer right pull the other one, so I checked vosa and am gobsmaked its genuine. Faults/todo list. Aircon, light dent passenger door, cruise control,One wheel is scuffed, plastic v6 engine cover. Price ? Best offers? Whats it worth? please all help decide. If you want to test drive or just admire you're welcome . I will post some pictures tomorrow.

Engine Stalls , When Revs Are Low
cyborg replied to fitze's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi fitze, Welcome to forum, When you say revs are between 750-1000 I take it you mean the engine is hunting? so its a process of elimination! Try some basic checks on the coil its the most common of vr6 engine problems. If the coil isn't the problem finding the problem is made alot easier if you buy a diagnostic lead which goes into a usb port something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAG-USB-DIAGNOSTIC-CABLE-409-1-OBD2-II-LEAD-VAG-COM-/220672983446?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item3361228196 -
Plug Removal Mkii V6 24v
cyborg replied to jonnyf's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
hi Jonny, Removing the coil's can be tricky and should only be done if absolutely necessary,I say this because its easy to crack the coils and then they arc on engine worst case is small fire and they melt .Some owners think It's is a good idea to have spare coil to hand and keep in glove box .sparks usually have 30k shelf life..Anyway remove the air duct over coils, then the clips on top of coils they can be tricky as plastic hardens gently prise each one some times its eaiser to pull the lot out in one go by gently prising each one (leaving wires on).Whatever you do take your time. They break easy and the evidance of the break might not show until meny miles from home. Early to late coil part numbers as you can see lots of revisions vw trying to get coil right. VW 022905100G VW 022905100D VW 022905100A VW 022905100N VW 022905100K Anyway only remove if you've reached service limit and thensome.. -
