  4. from what i remember about it,you can only reprogram a new key if you already have 2 keys programmed into the system. having a cloned key does not mean you have 2 keys,if you see what i mean.the codes will be the same.yes its complicated. hope that helps a bit?
  5. think i would look at going through the front grill area?rather then cutting the bonnet out.
  6. er not if its cloned iirc. thats where it will become expensive as it could be a visit to the dealers to be programed. again you will need to read up on it,there is loads of info all about.
  7. welcome to the forum,yes it wouldve come with a remote.there is loads of info on the forum about keys etc,can be done but not cheap.
  8. welcome to the forum,im surprised after your search of the forum you havnt found the answer,maybe previous owner made sure no 1 could gain entry,find that hard to believe though.
  9. looking at your pic thats why i asked if it was mk3,ill move it to the correct section. brian if you would like to edit your post accordingly?if not ill do it sometime. iirc that reading is too low,same thing on my old smax that required a new battery, the rac reckoned i needed a new alternator,done the battery 1st and over a year later still hadnt replaced the alternator. cheapest thing 1st m8ty.
  10. welcome to the forum max,is your car a mk3? if so then you can check within the on board diagnostic on how the battery voltage is reading.
  11. maybe if you type breaking alhambra you might get some results?
  12. think you might want to search for fuse box/alternator cable replacement ?

  15. would it really matter splicing in new wires where they always break,with same size wires rather then a whole new loom?

  17. im thinking earth problem with the door lights,as you have said check the door sensors. even though its a large car,i think you need to hang on to the gears a tad longer,my smax albeit a 2ltr used to hate being in 4th at 40.and never ever used 5th in urban driving. give it a week then see??
  18. clutching here,but you dont think the belt has been routed the wrong way by chance?and bypassing the compressor?
  19. do you not have a boot button on your remote? i had this with my smax turned out to be broken wires in the left hand side of hatch,so switch wouldnt work but it would from the remote.

  23. like you i also carry a spare alloy wheel,and a few weeks ago actually had to use it,came back from work and heard the tyre going down split in the side wall,so the gunk/compressor would have been as much use as a chocolate teapot.as for lifting it up im sure it gives you a clue where to postion the jack in the handbook? iirc you need this 1,ELM 327V2.1 modified think it comes with a switch on it??
