  1. i seem to think these things are held on with stuff from 3m. if its bent a tad i would try and straighten it out for a few days before re-installation.
  2. done this on my old mk2,but dropped the spring that holds the bulb in,and yep went straight down to the under tray.luckily i had just bought a magnetic pick up and after about 10mins managed to get it.
  3. bloody hell, well glad this is now sorted.
  4. ive seen this in other forums, yes most if not all screen replacement firms wont fit original screen because of the cost involved??? hence why it takes longer, count yourself lucky mine dont work on the smax, last year started doing the dreaded bar code, then nowt.
  5. most likly a mk1. you havnt dropped your keys in the last few days have you, what is the little red light doing on the drivers door when you crank the engine?
  6. wotcha and welcome.
  7. have you taken that pipe off just to check nothing is stuck in it?im sure someone has posted that a little ball can become wedged in it?.
  8. count your blessings you havnt asked about the aux heater.lol
  9. well ring up or pop into fords and ask. when i bought my 1st n reg galaxy it must have been at least 6 years old if not more when i bought it,and i went in and asked them turned out it needed a new brake master cylinder/servo etc,all free. so i assume its still the case if it has missed anything. as the saying goes 'dont ask''dont get'. just a thought are your blanking plates in situ in the roof(where the roof rack goes?)or is it a different setup compared to the smax?.
  10. has your car missed a recal?? http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/searches/search.asp?cboStartMonth=1&cboStartYear=1992&cboEndMonth=1&cboEndYear=2020&cboMake=FORD&cboModel=S-MAX&cboSortOrder=rec_launch_date&cboAscDesc=ASC&PageSize=10&tx=0.6639063&newsearch=newsearch
  11. same problem on my smax, only trouble is mine bent back to much and snapped a bit off,try and find some really STICKY d/sided tape or a decent adhesive to get it to stay there,as now it has been bent back a tad it will always pull off.
  12. really quick acceleration on ours, bit scary at 1st when your hurtling down a road in 2nd gear then look at the speedo. very comfy.they might well start getting cheaper now all the fuss has kicked off. my next car is going to be a touareg sat in a really nice 1 at the dealers, but its a tad out of reach at 50 odd grand.might be able to afford it when its about 20 years old so fingers crossed
  13. well that depends,if it hasnt had a special box fitted to it to con the fuel economy then yes probably. dunno what engine is in the wifes tiguan blue-motion.but straight off the forecourt it was registering over 40 to the gallon and is averaging just over round town. whereas the wifes smax didnt get above 38 odd driving up to wales.
  14. something like this ? https://www.fastenal.com/products/details/3162722 did look at your link and like the 1 ive posted the trouble you may have is,the reason the stud has snapped could be because it was whizzed in by a spanner working at a fast fit center.which basically means what ever you buy MAY not be strong enough to actually remove it and will snapped whatever you use. so it could mean your now the owner of a mig welder ;)
  15. and i would hope a case of liquid gold to your very good m8 for all the help he has given you?
  16. maybe you can reset it through convrs system? or it might require you to disconnect the battery for a few hours for the system to clear and reset itself?MAKE SURE YOU HAVE RELEVANT CODES ETC.
  17. yep
  18. sounds like the regulator wire has overun to me? if thats the case you can buy repair kits on ebay. or obtain another complete regulator, iirc even though the mk1 and 2 are different the actual components are the same,if that makes sense.
  19. wonder if its the gearbox mount. to check lift bonnet(make sure engine is cold) grab hold of the engine and see it it rocks back n forth easily?
  20. welcome to the forum bob. if you look in our faqs found in the technical section of the forum there are some very detailed instructions on carrying out repairs to the wires. if the rear hatch wiring is as bad as you have described then its probably crying out to be repaired properly.good luck in your search for help.
  21. think i heard you the 1st time.
