  1. believe it or not its a wiring fault. my smax went the same way,but i could open it with the boot release button on the remote. i inspected the wires in the left hand side gator and found the wires had broken.once refixed all was well again.

  3. welcome to the forum,panther. i used to have a petrol 2 ltr and yes it was a tad gutless. if you want to be a total boy racer in a mpv then get the v6,had a few come past me like a bat out of hell.
  4. check check and recheck ALL wires in ALL gators in the doors including the 1 in the rear hatch.

  7. on my mums ford puma she had the same problem,driving it hard round town no probs driving it long journeys ended up with no coolant,turned out to be a crack in the cylinder head that only opened up under load.

  9. yes gas should be removed 1st. inspect the belt to see if it looks worn,belt is fairly cheap so may be worth while changing it as your thre?

  14. hi m8 yes you can program it to your cars central locking,iirc there is a pats chip within the key but for that to work then its either a visit to your local dealers or a decent auto electrician to program it to the pats system. alas the wipers have gone. im in eastbourne east sussex

  18. might be worth disconnecting your battery for a few hours to reset the ecu module?. MAKE sure you have any codes for the stereo/sat nav etc.
  19. i remember test driving a mk1,and when the missus got out of the car she was VERY pleased to see EVERYONE. :38: ;) mk2 no where near smax i would say slightly better even her tiguan isnt as cold as the mk1.
  20. or if you have space at home break it your self of any decent parts,flog them then get a scrappy to pick up whats left,only trouble with doing that is you might not get anything for it,but you may of made a small fortune in parts??? nice,bet thats cheap. :o B)

  22. similar to mine,its probably either a new battery required or a new starter. whats the voltage in the on board diagnostics saying?

  25. its difficult to explain,the plastic spool has a thread on it this is where the cable runs,the cable will enter 1 way say from the top and another from the bottom.iirc when it undoes say from the top the bottom does up.as i said its really difficult to explain. whereabouts are you located as you havnt filled in your profile?. as for which 1 to buy,i cant really advise you as i may recommend something that turns out not to be what you needed.
