  2. behind the drivers seat, under the floor mat there is a cover lift this up and 'there it is'.
  3. defo switches itself off after a few minutes, wouldve thought yours should do the same?
  4. welcome to the forum,GET used to it.thats what makes it a friendly site.
  5. i must have missed it m8. long time no hear, how are you?
  6. if it did i never saw it lol.
  7. well every days a learning day.many thanks for the heads up. i was lead to believe that the immobilizer unless you had the correct equipment was fool proof. but if it is a known problem then surely the dealers shouldve high lighted the problem on any relevent tsb's???
  8. ooohhhh you are naughty, but funny.
  9. you sure mummy? reason why i ask,as you know this question has been asked er just a few times.and the general concenus is that only fords/auto locksmith can code the keys to the pats system.or was your key JUST cloned?? i too obtained a spare remote for mine and managed to program it to the car BUT NOT to the pats system.so i could not start the car. if as you say is correct then post the solution up and let the forum members know the secret.save quids allround :46:
  10. i too have 1 of these devices on my smax,i just leave it on as im sure after a few minutes it will switch it self off anyway. i will go out and check this tomorrow myself just to make sure,i turn my camera off everytime i exit the car and when i reopen it always comes back on automatically.
  11. as above,as for cam belt there are differing arguments here, before 1st half of 2003 it was 40k,later part of 2003 60k.but more info has come available that it is still 40k.so if you know the number plate of the 1 your looking at then check it out at ford etis site. make sure it comes with 2 keys(3 if your really lucky)as these cars cost a bloody fortune to recode/new key,and the mk2 requires 2 keys to program any others. like all cars there are very good 1s and some awful 1s, if your buying from a dealer negotiate the best warranty you can,try to get the full monty THAT is worth the paper it is written on. as for reliability, well lets face it most cars will have some kind of owners forum which is usually filled up will q + a's,just take your time in finding the right 1 for you. and yes you did read it correctly 'A WOMAN ADMITTING SHE ISNT RIGHT ALL THE TIME' now thats GOT to be a 1st :16:
  12. ive replied else where.
  13. i have to ask the question, how can a car be stolen without the correct key,as these cars like a lot of others have a pats system installed to stop this from happening. now my next question how many keys did you get when you bought the car.
  14. try emailing any one on ebay who is breaking a shalaxy, see if they can sell you the part you need.
  15. acecard thanks m8 that was indeed what i meant, just couldnt remember how to get to it,
  16. i agree,thanks for the update.
  17. all cars sound nice in adverts m8.good luck with your search im sure there will be a bargain to be had somewhere for you.
  18. dunno where abouts you are but last weeks friday ad eastbourne addition had a galaxy ghia tdi at a garage somewhere in my area, iirc it was a 130bhp for about 3.5 k.dunno if thats in your price range.?
  19. when i pxed my old renault laguna it had stacks of receipts of work carried out by myself and my m8 who was a renault mechanic.it was also featured in auto express many moons ago. the lady who bought it used to park it near where i work and i asked her if she had everything passed on to her,NO was the reply. i think dealers just use the book and thats it. when i bought my old mk2 luckily i found a piece of paperwork for a dealer in southampton phoned them up had a chat and they printed off the last main service/cam belt change etc.which was a result as it saved me from having to get it done. now im on my smax done the same but the guy said i was having a laff if i thought they would print out the history of my car as it was in every couple of weeks for a main service he reckoned it would take an age to do and would use LOTS of paper. iirc you can check on the vosa site for mots/advisories? also have a looksie on the ford etis site to see if theres any out standing problems. oh and welcome to the forum.
  20. then its either a scrappy,or try and make something to fit.
