  1. what sort of tow bar you want? as ive got 1 collecting dust in my garage.
  2. dont hold ur breathe with fords understanding that, but anythings worth a go.
  3. undo rear hatch, look for the removable trim to the left, pull it off, then stick ur head in the gap so you know what your looking for,you should see 2 plastic tangs think they are grey, press these down and remove the bulb cluster. iirc then you will see 2 plastic wing nut type bolts, undo these and it should pop out.hth.
  4. well i VERY gently drove mine around when mine broke, but be aware it can/will be excess stress on certain parts like the downpipe/cat area as well as other things? they do (restrictor bar)come up on ebay every now and then.
  5. wotcha and welcome to the forum
  6. bet she goes like stink B)
  7. wow a 150.now thats a bit of a beast. wot spec?
  8. open bonnet with engine off, grab hold of engine if it rocks/moves easily then it could well be the restrictor. BE VERY CAREFUL driving it if it is,as the whole engine moves and puts a lot of stress on certain parts/pipes etc.
  9. welcome to the forum
  10. this and the booster 1 :38:
  11. welcome chips.
  12. im sure there are fitting instructions on ebay from a seller of these?
  13. the tis you talk about is copy righted provided by the manufacturers, thats kept the boss happy. take a looksie on ebay they are on there somewhere. as for the haynes manuel, think your having a laff? theyve only just done 1 for the mk2 iirc end of last year. so think were all going to have to wait for quite a few years yet. :(
  14. hi,on my old mk2 it was fitted with a proper belt to the middle seat, slung up in the roof lining.
  15. i cant comment on the mk3 but if its similar to the smax then im happy with what i drive at the moment, like the post above my 1st gal was a mk1 petrol, then went and got a tdi mk2 personally i thought the mk2 was a far better car. but this is where you are going to have an argument with yourself, try and drive both and then make ur mind up.
  16. thnik maybe a friendly chat at the parts dept,to get them to show you a blown up piccy on hows its down.
  17. getting a new blank cut shouldnt be a problem, you can buy a remote (as long as you have the correct frequency)and program this to the central locking. the problem you will have is getting it PROGRAMMED to the pats system which is either a dealer visit or a good auto locksmiths.
  18. wota name, welcome to the forum m8ty.
  19. if you had held the key in the opposite direction for a few seconds the windows wouldve?shouldve gone back up,its called global opening?closing.
  20. you have to have the pats programed to your car, have you tried the lock in the rear hatch? dunno if it would work but worth a stab?
  21. there was an old lady from ealing.............................................
  22. seat kid,to be honest m8 i think your bang on. even though i do like my smax,i loved my mk2 and if i didnt have my mid life crisis wouldve(shouldve)kept it,but no i went and got a lexus.even though it was a lovely car it just didnt tick all the boxes the mk2 did. :( i did try to get another mk2 but the prices seemed on the high side for what was like an old car,so i settled on the next best thing the smax.
  23. lol.no its not
  24. welcome to the forum, i too went down the zaffy route for a time,i must have been lucky as mine(mk1 dti)had no problems at all in the 2 years i had it. soon came back to the galaxy though, they are probably the best mpv on the market, from a personnel point of view i would go down the tdi route as these are basically a vw in disguise.there is an abundance of info on this forum, from general problems to discussions etc about the various engine types,do a search. as you have found any car can be a complete dog, hopefully your next one will behave itself.
  25. yeah gota agree with you the mk2 did seem better.
