  1. is it coming from the rear exhaust or from under the car in the middle?
  2. as you are aware these cars are bloody huge to try and cool down,even on my smax it takes a while to get the car cool.even on the other halfs smax its the same.so at least i know there working as they should. funnily enough before i bought my old mk2 i test drove another mk2 with non climate and i seem to remember it was bloody cold when the aircon was on,either that or the wife was plzed to see me, :46: ;)

  4. wire problems within any of the doors,common problem so check these 1st.

  7. then i would say thats the problem then,find a friendly tow bar fitter and ask how much it will cost to be done.i could well be wrong but you need the dedicated software to be able to do this,and i dont think its free ;) ;)
  8. then maybe you have a loose connection somewhere???
  9. the only thing i can think of is find which sensor is the culprit and maybe wipe some silicone sealer around it.
  10. was the electrics programmed to the car?,when i had mine fitted it had to be.i will be shortly taking it off the missus car and putting it on mine and have been told that both cars need to be reprogrammed.

  12. i get this on my smax, from what i have gathered, it could well be moisture getting into 1 or the paint on them flaking,apparently this is a common problem.
  13. fuel pump maybe? can you hear the pump just as you start it?

  15. iirc there is a known problem with the alarm module,think its found under the passenger wheel arch.
  16. take a looksie on amazon aswell as some are cheaper then the bay.
  17. if they are still not working then maybe it requires a new brake light switch/s. cheaper at vw then fords.
  18. there are various firms that do this,search google.or chips away do this sort of thing but from what i know like alot of the mobile ones they only strip and paint the front of the wheels.
  19. look in the faqs for instructions on how to test if the pulley is seized. and if your near me i have the tool to remove it.
  20. yeah get someone to help you as from what i understand its bloody heavy.
  21. im sure someone done this,its probably in the archives of the forum. you could try cutting some thin card as a template.
  22. iirc you can remove another switch from the side you know that works and try it in the 1 that doesnt.if it still doesnt work and you have checked all the wires to it etc then it could well need a new switch.
  23. could well be the fault is the wires in the door gaitors.well known problem.
