  3. agree with seat kid this is a common problem, had it with my old mk1.
  4. these are the rules of the forum set up by the admin, take a looksie here and all will be reveiled http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=11992 you never know if the pics you take when doing repairs on your car, they could end up in the faqs section which might help others out with there problems. hth.
  5. jrwr the reason you cannot see the pics is you are restricted at the moment, until you have made 5-6 posts on the forum,it wont take long  as for the parts try looking back through this thread im sure its been posted on where others have got their stuff from iirc gsf,or your local parts company or try ford/vw/seat.to see what price difference there is.

  7. your ingaging the global closing/opening as big kev has said your holding the key in postion to long.
  8. bit late but i hope you had a good one jk? :) :31:
  9. you havnt got a swiming pool under your passenger seat have you???
  10. hi nice to have you :16:
  11. how long had you had the car,ie when you bought it did it come with all keys??3 in total(1 remote,1 normal,1 black plastic key). i could be wrong but i think you need a key programed to the pats system to start and drive the car away. you havnt had any work done on the car recently,i:e at a garage? either that or someone with a good knowledge of nicking cars, which means an awful lot of chavs.
  12. from me also tiny hope you had a good day.
  13. yeah ok hes got a seat :(
  14. do you not know any one who could sand blast them for you and respray?or would that damage the wheels?
  15. check the wires in the door.
  16. hi seatkid, just reading your smoke test results.heres mine from my mot on the 12/2/09 smoke reading peak 1 =2.34 m-1 peak 2 =1.57 peak 3 =1.31 zero drift =0.04 PASS MAX 0.10 average =1.70 MOT TEST RESULT turbo =1.70 m-1 PASS MAX 3.00 as i havnt a clue on what these all mean apart from being pleased it passed, and im assuming you do?how good are they in the general scheme of things. and i do occasinaly carry out the italian tune ups.
  17. cant help im afraid, but funnily enough mine seems to be very similar to yours,i just thought either me or the missus had a heavy right foot,so i look forward to see what people suggest.
  18. i think after 2 1/2 years he hasnt got them anymore :angry2:
  19. nik sounds exactly like mine,i think the plate is a lot softer material then the splined rod? iirc because the clutch is not engaged it will continue to spin when you try to tighten up the nut,i suggest you get a m8 to give you a hand 1 from underneath and 1 from the top,my m8 was working the socket while i was holding the clutch plate with a pair of bloody big grips,it is a pain in the arse but saves spending a chunk of dough in removing it.
  20. nik take your under tray cover off, mine was found sitting on it,me thinks this is a inherent problem with the compressors, hopefully all youve got to do is the simple fix that alot of us have managed to do,fingers crossed it isnt totally u.s. iirc all it is is a plate that slides on the spline on the compressor,(did you have any noise comming from it???)if not YOU MIGHT BE LUCKEY in the fact that it might of just come off?and not elongated the plate(which mine had)my mechanic also put the newone on with lock tight just to make sure it stayed secure, just remember there isnt much room.
  21. That's like asking the question "How long is a piece of string" thats easy twice the length of its half. :P :P
