Hi Steve Depends where you have asked ! if you asked at a caravan dealer he will say its fine, but as Kef has said its a but heavy for the car. Look on this site: http://www.whattowcar.com/ You should be looking at about 85% of the kerbside weight of the car or less, and don't forget the police etc are getting very keen on overweight outfits, Its not worth it if you get the whole lot confiscated on you way to your holls ! I would not think there is enough power from the rear socket, you will be better taking a feed direct from the battery with a reasonable fuse. You will need a minimum of 4mm Sq running that sort of lengh of cable Radiotwo

Hi Paul Gregers may have a point, but you say you have a towbar ! how is the fog light wired ? it might be wired so when you plug the trailer in, the plug disconects the car fog lights ! Open the shutter on the socket and have a look where the pins are, and you might find a black plastic pin, which when the plug is put in, the pin opens a contact inside the socket(and so switching off the car fog lights) Just a thought as you said it has a socket ! Hi Westytwo usually Vag-com does not detect a fault with a MAF, but the way to check is to disconnect the plug from the MAF and if car runs better then it is the MAF If there is no difference its not the problem. You have not said what the symptoms are, but I had one go on a Fabia (same idea) I removed it from the car, and blew it out with a air-line and refitted it and has been ok since ( I might have been lucky, but cheap enough to try) Radiotwo

2002 1.9 Tdi Auy Gal Alternator

Hi again Why go for the 90 Amp why not the 120 Amp, its the same price Radiotwo -
Hi Andy I suppose the answer is yes, you can fit a new radio, but if you get a single CD radio, and your multi changer will not fit the new radio, (unless you get the same make) so you have one one slot instead of 6 ! Another idea, why not get one of those FM transmitter things with MP3 (SD card) so you can put your music on the card, and play the files through the radio ? cost of transmitter aprox

Hi Barry I think this what you might be looking for: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Ford_Gal...705bf1&ALTR But if you go on the home page, and input your Reg, it might be a bit closer than my guess ! Radiotwo -
Hi Ringoo I would assume you have, but what difference does it make if you have or not ? The only problem you will have is switching the radio on or off which can be done with a can-bus adapter Radiotwo

Have you got a digital multi meter ? If yes, check the battery voltage when the engine is not running, you will get about 12.0 to 12.5 Volts depending on how well the battery is charged up(or not) Then start the engine, and the voltage should go up to about 14.5 Volts, then turn every thing on you can think of, ie, lights, heated rear window, blower motor, and any thing else you can think of, again check the voltage, and should be about 13.8 Volts or more, and just to say, you need to run the engine @ about 2000 RPM. there is another test, but you need a high amperage Amp meter that will read up to 200 Amps (or so) You also say about the battery, you need to do a drop test on that(no I don't mean drop it from 4ft) its a load put on the battery for a certain time, but you need to make sure the battery is fully charged Radiotwo

Cold Heaters This Winter Problem
RADIOTWO replied to jamesey's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
get away i thought it was hot  , my temp gauge goes up to 90deg then whilst frrwheeling down hils like i do somtimes it goes back down to 0 , this isnt right. Hi Again You obviously don’t much about cars or for that matter engines, I will try and explain so that anyone who does not know how a Internal combustion engine works. First of all you have a combustion chamber which you squirt fuel Into like Petrol, which is then fired with a spark, and this gets Very hot, so you then have to cool it, what you do is make holes All round the cylinders and fill with water, and this cools the cylinders But as the Galaxy engine is so efficient, when you stop putting the engine Under load, then the block cools off, and as if you then coast down a hill Then the temp goes down. This why they put a booster heater on the car to put more heat into the system But if it is not working, then as long as the engine is still under load, the engine Will keep hot, but remove the load and will cool off. It just means the Galaxy, etc is a very efficient cooling engine. Radiotwo -
