Hi again I think I am getting the idea, but as you say if the galaxy aerial is powered then you might have a problem. The best solution is to fit a (metal) mounted aerial but as you say you don't want to do that. Did the TMC receiver come with the wire antenna? if it did then I suspect it will be the best for the job, as it will be at the correct frequency. Just thought of something that was said once to me, buy a farly cheap wing mounted aerial and extend it but put it above the roof lining (make sure it does not float around, or touch the metal) and plug that into the TMC unit, and that might work !! Hi Again I think I can see what you are trying to do, but if you are using the normal aerial on the car, it wont work for GPS, its the wrong freqency. car radio: 108 Mhz and satnav(GPS) is 1.8Ghz There are duel band antenna's but you are better with seperates I have just reread the text, but the lead you are showing would be the wrong way round, ie, that lead is for two radios and one aerial. Hi Mr T Not too sure what you are trying to do ! Is the satnav a seperate unit or is it part of the radio ? and also please explain more about the splitter Radiotwo

HI Francis Re the Cable, I would make one up my self(but can get all the stuff)but if there is a local auto electritions I would as the to make one up, and ask the to solder the connections to get a good conection. Re the next bit, I have enlarged the picture and it looks Burnt to me (the black bit on the picture) is that the case? I have not seen any rubber over the soldered connection before, but yes unsolder the wire, but watch the spring does not drop out. If that bit is burnt (voltage regulator) then you would need one of them as well, so your

Hi Again I would go with SK for that sort of price, and get the Brushes and see what happens, and also take off the poor cable and clean(or even replace with new) just as matter of interest did you contact that place that does recon units? but back to your other question, if it was me I would go for the 120 A one, just because I usually have a lot of extras on my cars, so the more power the better just as amatter of interest what did Halfords quote for the three units? Hi Again, You mention the coroded wire, that is worth further checking out, and also there has been post on here about "fuse boxes" melting, (not sure of a wireing diagram) but check all connections around there as well. But my gut feelings are still the carbon brushes, but where to get them nowadays, ! What make is the Alternator that is on ? and where to get them !Example:http://www.directautoelectrical.co.uk/ You say you are in the North is the north America or north pole ! Radiotwo

Hi Ian I don't know if this something that just happened, but today's diesel engines are very efficient, but as long as you are moving along(driving and not costing)the engine will run at normal temp, but in these cold times it will take longer to warm up. A long time ago you could get Summer/Winter stats, you don't seem to hear about them nowadays, but they might still do them , so it would warm up quicker, but as long as it gets to normal temp and stays there while driving then I would not worry Radiotwo

Another Aux Heater Question
RADIOTWO replied to rodders's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I thought the Thermostat was to let the engine warm up quicker, I was under the impresion the aux heater was as it says a extra heater to keep heat in the car when the outside temprature is very cold. it just gives heat when the car is ticking over, because if you leave a diesel just ticking over it will get cooler and cooler, so you need some other device to keep heat in the heating system Radiotwo -
Another Aux Heater Question
RADIOTWO replied to rodders's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
It Just goes to show what you know about engines, the idea for the Aux Heater is to get you warm quicker and not the engine ! what about the hundreds of other cars out there that don't have these heaters? Radiotwo -
Hi Scorpiorefugee "All forms of speed trap detectors should be banned and users fined" WHY ? Do you want to fine users just because they know there is a speed camera ? Is that not preventing a crime rather than curing one ! "and drivers of everything from school buses to heavy lorries come past at speeds of up to 70." Now that a load of rubbish ! How do you know they are doing up to 70mph ? A truck cannot do 70mph they are restricted to 56 anyway. Just a matter of interest , Speed does not Kill its the way you drive ! Radiotwo

Plug Your Broadband Into Master Socket
RADIOTWO replied to jkspoff's topic in Internet and computers
Hi Jkspoff It is well know that these cause problems, A very good friend had the same problem. I assume you have plugged the filter in there? , if so just plug the face plate back into the filter. You ask how much BT will charge ? I recon a lot, but if the other bit does not work, its easy to sort out your self, first unplug all the phones, and check the BB, and if it is clear with no phones plugged in then start to plug each phone in one by one, till you find the problem phone (or filter). Hi Ian I am not a expert with the Ford Bluetooth system, but with experiance with other systems, I suspect you cannot change any thing in the car set up, but I am a bit confused with what you say when you say it "switches on the Phone", If the phone is switched off (and not in say a sleep mode) then I would say it cannot switch on the phone. But if I am miss reading your post, then check the settings in the phone its self, you might a setting in there ! Also there is a problem any way, as the system is always going to be a problem with you, as the idea with bluetooth is that it s a totally hands free, and even if the phone was switched on before you switched the car on then the touch pad would be a problem, so what is the problem with the car! Sorry if that is no help, but please try and explain more if I have got it wrong Radiotwo
