:( Wow, wot a day and what lovely people! It's not true what they say about MO4 ....... at least you hate Liverpool FC like the rest of us! Here' a piccie to prove it (Stevie_G's motor by he way) This is what happens to your car if you mess with the Galaxy Owners Club! Matt_Jr realising he's got the wrong car! Whats left of it! Then a few retalitory explosions! Culprits locked up! Finally my Gal all polished after the "Money Munchers" have finished with it! Thanks again to Hairy for arranging the meet and to everyone else for their great company. Chris

I've already got the Journey pack fitted to mine Dyno but I must say what a smart job m8. Good idea on how you fitted the screen to the roof, I would have ummd and arrd at cutting a slit in the headliner. What glue did you use to stick the plywood? So have you got the audio running through the Head Unit cos I want to do the same so the kiddies dont have to wear the headphones?

I'm in with no problems ...running xp pro, IE7 and Norton Internet Security suite 2006.... Norton set up firewall rules automatically. Cant see why others aren't getting on unless they've got windows firewall switched on

Noisey Clutch Or Is It
Smilge replied to roly1977's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
If it is this Roly then it will be expensive .... I had a similar problem on a Sierra where the input shaft bearing had completely collapsed and made changing gear very difficult and extremely "rattly". At the start I thought it was just the the release bearing, which is a quick job once you've got to it. The problem was getting to it! Prop shaft off, bell housing and gearbox off ... The thing was, although this was a relatively simple job, I found the input shaft to the gearbox flapping about due to the bearing failure. This meant stripping the gearbox completely just to get access to a -

Noisey Clutch Or Is It
Smilge replied to roly1977's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
This sounds more like an input shaft bearing. If it was the clutch release bearing, I would expect the noise to get worse when you depress the clutch pedal. As it is, when the clutch is engaged, the input shaft is turning, but when you depress the clutch pedal, the drive to the input shaft is disengaged, and it stops turning. By the way, what sort of noise is it? A good check to confirm this would be to see if it makes the same noise when depressing the clutch with neutral selected. If it does then I would confirm the input shaft bearing as the idler gear is still turning whether or not the car is in gear or not. -

Noisey Clutch Or Is It
Smilge replied to roly1977's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Definately clutch release bearing a bit dry ... easy on a rear wheel drive motor but not on this beast. I think I would put up with it unless it gets worse like you say. -
I reckon they will m8 if they don't lose any key players through injury .... good win for the reds though ... hope we don't meet in the knockout stages cos we'll embarrass you this time .... :D

OOoh painted calipers .... dead sexy ..... :) Oh you mean the brake calipers :)

Oscillating Acceleration!
Smilge replied to insider's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Dunno m8 ... I'll leave the Gal experts for this .... My Mondeo suffered from Turbo lag and a flat spot around 1800 revs but not oscillations. When you "floor" it, are you revving it to the limit cos the rev limiter might be kicking in? -
oh right didnt think i had one lol sorry m8 .... just edited my post ... you should have one
-
:D I dont think they were even invented then m8 :D :) (found under the nearside just in front of the rear wheel - used to boost the cars coolant heat when the ambient air temperature is less than 10 degrees and the cars coolant temperature is less than 76 degrees ... I think?) :)

Hiya Dynomikered ..... I notice you waited until Liverpool won last night before you posted your introduction.... oh and by the way I'm a Chelsea supporter (since 1970) :) Big welcome from me m8 and look forward to more posts from yourself. :)

Latest Feeling On Tyres?
Smilge replied to Mikef's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
no! the conclusion is that the tester HAS to notice that you dont have the correct rated tyres on the vehicle at the time of testing! mines passed three times so far without RF or XL rated tyres fitted at the time of testing! Ok thanks m8 -
Did you look at his website Hairy? ... there's another silver Gal. Why would you put it on Ebay if you were a dealer? He cant shift it .... wonder why? :)
