  1. Hi Bobd try these, part number as follows : (Bosch 2 604 321 904) These are i believe for a power drill and are slightly bigger approx 5.5mm x 5.5mm x 15mm so will need to be rubbed down gently. If any of you get stuck let me know and i will see if my local supplier can get them 4u?
  2. To be honest if you can remove it yourself (like most of us do) then you can repair it yourself with some new Bosch brushes for approx
  3. Mauser i have two of those pulleys here all be it used they look fine with no damage, they are off two other engines i had . If you want to cover the postage which wouldn't be much you are welcome to one ? mike.....
  4. sorry misread your post.
  5. Firstly buy the new fuse box from Vw it's a Vw part and was cheaper for me than fords
  6. The later 2.3 like yours has a single coil pack mounted on the outside of the head as you describe, the earlier ones had two on top of the head and less plug leads i believe. I run the same car as you and have had to change my leads twice now to get rid of a bloody misfire. I am NOT saying this is your problem but don't buy cheap leads like i did it don't pay. I am now using MAGNECOR, expensive but cured mine. A simple check that may help is to remove the top engine cover approx 8 x 10mm bolts to expose your plugs and leads then once dark and i mean dark ie no street lights have the wife start and rev the car while you look closely for arcing of the leads especially under this cover as this is where mine were touching the head on both occasions due the lack of room. As mentioned it could be anything but this don't cost nothing. Best of luck. :)
  7. May sound like a daft question but is the climate control panel just a set of buttons or is it programmed in any way ( is there a way of resetting it ? ) as mine is acting very strange the past week or since i disconnected the battery. It will function when it wants or should i say my aircon will come one when it wants, i thought it may have been a bad connection to the compressor but the more i use the bloody thing the more i think it's a control issue, are these units known for playing up at all? i can hit the buttons several times to switch it on and nothing and then on the eighth time it works, just seems to have a mind of it's own ? :angry2:
  8. Anyone ? relay location or diagram for single aircon with climate? ;)
  9. ;) 800 miles in a Galaxy, hmm nope not even if i used the petrol tank after ! but i bet it would cost me less to do the said miles and with all the money saved i could come back for nowt lol ! Sorry this is not helping your search for cheap oil is it!
  10. Noooooooooo Noooooooo Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo or as Clarkson would say loserrrrrrrrr ! running on LPG and have been for the last 4 yrs as that bloody smelly oily diesel stuff is expensive as well lol  Did i mention it's less than half the price of diesel ;) Sorry i couldn't resist !
  11. ;) Oh dear yet another diesel issue, Pd oil, god that stuff's expensive ! boy am i glad i bought a petrol, now then what really really cheap oil shall i buy next ? ;)
  12. My 2001 mk2 2.3's aircon is playing up, it's fully gassed ( had it checked ) runs nice and cold but for some reason at times it decides not to switch on via my climate panel. I'm sure it's electrical as the compressors not kicking in, the outside temp is above the minimum but nowt ! I tried it yesterday approx a dozen times and nothing yet once i got home it came on as normal as has been fine all day today? Does anyone no if there is a relay for the compressor and it's location please ? thanks mike... ;)
  13. Absolutely loads of posts on this, i would start by looking for a perished hose on the cc pump which located behind the nearside indicator .
  14. Fantastic news mate, glad you got it sorted.,I keep telling everyone they don't call them the main stealers for nothing. I hate these people with a passion, Bleedin crooks, don't cover fuses what the hell is that about? Sorry calm now.
  15. I think they are supposed to come on/stay on when you switch on and off , mine certainly does. I think you should be asking for how long ? mine will stay on for a few minutes and then switch off, the aim of this pump i believe is to circulate the water through the head to prevent so called hot spots , although mine never worked for 2 yrs untill i fixed it ? This is just my understanding of it mind, i'm sure someone with more knowledge will be along to help  Ok forget everything i said, just reread the post and your asking about a secondary air pump not the bloody coolant pump (which does this) DOH! mental note to myself don't type and talk on the phone at the same time.
  16. If i remember correctly 8mm socket or spanner, approx 5 cables into box and 1 out to battery ( comes complete with all new fuses fitted ) thick cable goes to alternator, don't have to go under car ( you must change this even if it looks ok it ain't ) If you really cannot do it yourself why not buy the bits yourself as they are cheap enough and take to a small garage and agree on half hour labour, has to be cheaper than being ripped off at Frauds surely.
  17. :o Frauds OMG I know you say you have no tools but you'll have no money now either ! Box is
  18. Mine have been inflated to : Front - 2.8 bar, 41psi , Rear - 2.6 bar, 38psi for the last 4 yrs with no problems at all :( 2.3 petrol on 215/55/16's
  19. I have had the above fitted in my gal for last year or so and would happily recommend them also as a straight swap bulb.
  20. Quote : screwdiver ? bloody hell must slow down, Screwdriver
  21. I know you didn't want to buy the specific tools but surely it's cheaper than buying a screwdiver set, most factors sell them ?
  22. Ok confused myself now, To recap NO ROOF VENTS IT'S SINGLE not dual, duel, jewl or otherwise . There is a black plastic cap fitted to the top of the reciever/drier ( the long tube fitted on the left hand side of the condensor when looking from the front ) under this cap is a circlip this is the usual area for the leak especially on the older cars, put a bit of light oil or soapy water in there and look out for bubbles forming as the gas escapes or a green crust ontop of the circlip is a sure givaway look for the posts on inspecting the condensor there should be loads. If you find this is your problem you may as well buy the whole condensor not just the reciever/drier as the cost difference is not a great deal and condensors come fitted with a new reiver/drier anyway approx
  23. :D I have dual (not duel ) air con YOU tring two say i canot spel ? :D Remember what goes around ! :)
  24. As above, i have been down this road before like many others on here and i can tell you firstly Frauds are talking through their bottom and stay away from the main stealer , secondly if you have no roof vents then it's 700g +- 50g honest. When i first bought mine some idiot filled it with 1100 and stuffed the compressor. The climate control panel does have rear control but this is not duel aircon, this caught me out when i first bought mine. One of the biggest causes for coolant loss is the condensor ( aircon rad thats fitted in front of your normal rad ) see the many posts for leak inspection . p.s did i say stay away from Frauds.
  25. Unfortunately the sticker gives you both quantities. As suggested without roof vents it's 700+- 50g and with it's the larger quantity 1100g. Do yourself a favour and pen out the quantity that don't apply to your vehicle as some dip sh1t will put in the wrong quantity ;)
