  1. Not being one to stir it, i have had this three times over the past couple of weeks
  2. Thanks for that, thought it may be me and sorry for dropping you in it who ever it was lol....
  3. Tried logging on the site a few times lately only to be confronted with this error, not being super dooper on p.c's, is this an issue with the sites server or my p.c ? :(
  4. Well i just replaced the aircon compressor today and added 725g + 25g of gas ( i have climate with control for front and for rear together with pipes running under the the car to rear ) my aircon is now ice cold and working a treat 4.4 degress Cel luvvvvvvly. I have had several people say i have dual aircon but i do not i honestly believe if like suggested on here you don't have rear roof vents then you don't have dual aircon and the lower value of gas is needed. If you put the higher volume in it will bugger the compressor and proberly stall the car in the process ? lets just see if i can get the summer out of it, you live in hope lol.... :(
  5. Can i just ask why you think you have aircon in the rear as well as in the front , do you have vents in the roof at the rear as well ? :(
  6. Find out what compressor is fitted first before you start, should have a sticker on it ( typical scrap yard price is
  7. They should easy see you a couple of thou yet as long as you don't drive it like a R1 lol, you may well have done the breaks and 160mph on it but did you try doing a stoppy at that speed :) :) i take it you have now mellowed ?
  8. QUOTE is it a diy job to replace the bearings in the alternator if need be ? Sorry to butt in but it would be easier to replace the alternator, bearings are pressed into the casting as well as being fitted to the rotor, not really a job for DIY unless you have the relevent bearings and presses etc. What is the manufactures name on the alternator and what is the part number ,should be on a sticker placed on the black cap ? :)
  9. Best of luck mate, hope you get it sorted...... :P
  10. Have you put 12v across your existing fans to see if they work just to make sure its not a switch etc :P i could be wrong here and proberly am but i thought 1 fan was for the aircon and only kicked in when the aircon was on????
  11. Quote What did they do in two hours? I've done 3 pumps now (all sourced from a local bosch dealer at
  12. Boffa firstly sorry for SHOUTING mate, but it really naffs me off when people get ripped off especially by Feckin Frauds of all people, you may have your own reasons for takeing it to them and i should really mind my own business. There is alot good advice on this forum and its saved me a shed full and to be honest i would listen to people on here before the bloody Ford muppets. I honestly believe your problem is an airlock or you have cooked it as said before, i don't believe forking out all that money will solve any of your issues based on my own experience but i wait to be corrected. sorry bud mike.... :P
  13. :P Holy sh1t you must have money to burn , i have had no run on pump for over a year on my galaxy and its made no difference whatsoever, heating or otherwise , i fixed it myself last week only because i was bored lol for the total cost of
  14. Hi davewill , you have the very same symptoms as me, firstly i had quick fit check mine out for leaks as i was loosing all the gas after about two months, they found none. I located the leak to the condensor top (very common ) replaced the condensor drier and the gas stopped leaking so i would take their word with a pinch of salt. After a week or so the cool air stopped, compressor still kicks in and spins with no horrible noises and the gas is there but i have now been informed by a couple of people who have come across this fault before that the compressor is stuffed, i can get one for approx
  15. Oh god some people are so predictable , no response required read my answer quote Not trying to correct anyone after reading the post a second time i realised i had misread it but please put your toys back in ye pram i am not questioning your comments i was simply trying to help a fellow forum member ..
  16. Not trying to correct anyone here but i do know there are several types for mine ( 2001 mk2 2.3 ) as the pipe entry points are different and are compressor specific not sure regarding diesels ?
  17. As suggested buy originals if poss , i'm off to fords after having changed drivers side five times in two years and passenger side 3 times in the same period . Just gone again and after trying all these various cheaper versions i've had enough  ! This may not be the issue with your own vehicle but its a bloody good bet unless your bought dealer ones ! :angry2:
  18. quote Don't forget your brake rewind tool! I've had mine a good few years now , when i look back to the older days and the time spent trying to get the bloody pistons in it was definately one of the better things i bought :angry2:
  19. Thank you kind sir for the info , thats alot less hassle then , bloody hate doing shoes lol..... :angry2:
  20. Just a quick question regarding the mk2 galaxy brakes , do these have pads only on the rear or is it a pad /shoe setup for the handbrake as well ? Just being lazy as i need to replace soon but havn't yet had a look ?
  21. Bloody hell :o 28 miles to a tenner you most definately have a problem , i run a 2.3 and although a mk2 the engines are basically the same and i easy see 28 mpg combined and regulary achieve 35 mpg on a run . Get a garage to check it out plug gaps , air filter , brakes binding etc something is very wrong , are there no other suspect symptoms ?
  22. Clutch !
  23. Could try disconnecting the battery for 10 mins , not sure if it will work but has to be worth a try?? make sure you have your radio code first mind !
  24. For what its worth i have a sanden SD7V16 compressor here , part number 7M5 820 803 A / 2M2H 19D629 AA that maybe the same as yours i bought it last year for mine only to find i bought the wrong one ! if interested give me a shout mike... :P
  25. Hi mate i run LPG also although be it on a 2.3 and have been trying to find the cause of a misfire for a few weeks now turned out to be a duff lead , original ford equipment and less than 2 year old :P managed to locate the arcing by going out in the dark , no street lights etc bonnet up and a blanket over my head . Looked bloody stupid but found it straight away which was all that mattered ! i totally dismissed the leads as they were not that old , possibly worth a look?
