  1. With the 4 small bolts removed the damper pulley can be removed leaving in place the crankshaft sprocket, the cover bolts can then be removed.
  2. Then you only need to remove the four smaller bolts to get to the cover behind
  3. Hi there Are you removing the pulley to replace cambelt or do you have another problem.
  4. lol - really... Maybe thats what VW told Ford at concept stage but its certainly not how it functions by design now lol Hi Burg/Mirez That sounds very much like the operation of independent heating, and thinking about it the TIS manual only shows the auxiliary coolant pump with the independent heating option, but as most of us know it is standard on the MK2 diesels as is the booster heater. It doesn't give you much faith in ford technical or the dealers. Can only repeat the important points 1.Auxiliary coolant pump (run on pump) runs continuous all the time engines running and a few minutes after switch off without it you run the risk of hot spots building up after switch off which could lead to premature head gasket failure and/or distorted/cracked cylinder head 2.Poor heat output from rear compartment heater due to little or no coolant flow. 3.Booster heater will keep shutting down then starting up (cycling) and possibly record an overheat again due to no coolant flow.
  5. With info supplied looks like this one. http://www.autoairconparts.co.uk/Car-Air-Conditioning-Compressor-(Pump)-for-Ford-GALAXY-2.3-Petrol-Man/Auto-from-Sep-02-to-May-06-Part-14-1137.html
  6. Im sure unless you have had a Cologne conversion :)
  7. 2.3.16.18.20.21.22.32.33. all these fuses cover certain parts of aircon, but they also cover other circuits. Does your radiator cooling fans run when aircon is in Auto mode, and have you noticed the display flashing recently when switching on ignition. Can you hear a click from the compressor clutch when switching between Auto and Econ. You may need to run Vagcom too check for error codes.
  8. If you do a search on the said relays you will read other members experiences, and yes they are first ports of call for intermittant starting problems other than battery faults, also in the FAQ's there's a good how to remove/replace relays.
  9. Relay number 30 (R27) on the 2.3's Relay number 109 (R22) on the TDI's
  10. Hi Dola The 2.8 V6 is a VW engine, so Vagcom will work for you, only the 2.0 & 2.3 petrol engines are Ford.
  11. Just to add to whats been suggested do your cooling fans come on when you switch on A/C? also when you check for voltage at the compressor plug try using a test light just incase that 12 volt drops to zero when connected to compressor. What area of the south east are you? I know a good mobile aircon man in Maidstone area.
  12. Don't think you have any option but to change it, would avoid the cheap Ebay ones mine ended up worse although did get my money back. Running with it disconnected wont damage the system but may register a code. I got a genuine reconditioned bosch one from my local factors (
  13. Check fuses 2 & 15
  14. Hi and welcome to the forum Can you give us a bit more info, ie, Year or either MK1 or MK2 and engine code manual/auto? Did you mean 2.3 petrol as 2.4 is not an option.
  15. Have you cleared this code before and it's come back again? Try removing it from car and spraying it with a switch/contact cleaner solvent then let it air dry, don't physically touch the sensor as they are quite delicate. Do you notice any difference running with it connected or disconnected. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16485/P0101/000257
  16. Hi Couple of things to check. 1. Run Vagcom diagnostics on car first, this may narrow the search for the fault 2. Relay 109 is first down the line from fuse 14, not known that to blow fuses only usually cause starting and running problems, have you had problems with this relay before? the black colour relay was known for bad solder joints and replaced with a grey colour so if you still have a black one I would change that anyway. 3. The engine ECU, MAF, N75,valve N18,Valve are also feed from that fuse, so any dodgy wiring in the engine harness may cause this, or even a component itself. Because it's intermittant it's not an easy one this :) good luck
  17. Hi there The VW number 06A 906 401 is correct for the AUY engine in the ETKA parts book
  18. Just for your info the 115ps is the AUY engine code
  19. The 110 is an AFN. Will have a look through wiring diagrams later.
  20. It should be on the outside edge of the cover although may have got ripped off Does it say the BHP in your V5
  21. on reg doc says engine number is xy36282 if that helps thanks gary No thats not it.
  22. Label on timing cover, with engine number on cylinder block and possibly registration document will be like, 1Z. AHU. AFN. ANU.
  23. Hi and welcome to the forum Transit minibus wow :) you'll be able to put the ear defenders away now and join the air conditioned luxury  I take it your Luton in Bedfordshire as we have one down here in Kent.
