Water Leaking In
chrispb123456 replied to jonesblakey's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi there While your clearing the scuttle tray out would be a good idea to change the pollen filter. Also as your car is ageing remove the screws from the rear end of the front wheel arch liner, the scuttle drains into this area, dig all the mud and dirt away wash out with hose then check for rust and holes where water could find it's way through inside. -

Glow Plug Light Flashing / Workshop
chrispb123456 replied to maxiboo's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi and welcome to the forum The glow plug light doubles as an engine management light, so it's telling you there's a fault on a sensor only problem is it don't tell you which one. The brake light switch is a common culprit for this. The only way to be sure is to run Vagcom this will pinpoint the fault. The Vagcom lead is a good investment it can save you -

Galaxy Steaming Up
chrispb123456 replied to jedi's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Here it is. http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=1539&hl=pollen+filter -
Problems occurring with the booster heater manifest themselves usually in the cold weather (below +5 degs on MK1's and below +10 deg's on MK 2's) is it that cold where you are? Anyway to try and pinpoint whether the heater is trying to fire up you could temporarily remove fuse 12 from the fuse box this will disable it and see if it occurs again The reason I mentioned steam is maybe the rear heater matrix or pipework is leaking causing the steam. Are you losing or constantly topping up coolant level.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery then hold both leads together for a second then reconnect, obviously you will need your code handy for your radio. -
Another Climate/air Con Question
chrispb123456 replied to wackojackouk's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi colin The link you added on one of your threads shows the pipe, the other end of the pipe is attached to the compressor the part number for the pipe was on a label attached to the old pipe and the number will only be good for VW The condenser drier is a common place for leaks but as I said the pipes are vulnerable to corrosion, there are a few pipes that are hidden behind the wheel arch and behind the engine and radiator grill. And I do receive messages + your friend request thanks Cheers Chris -

Strange Hissing Under Bonnet
chrispb123456 replied to djenigma's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Check the small rubber air pipes around the engine, if one is split or become detached you may have a blocked cat/exhaust -
Good idea Dave but make sure the garage you use will still guarantee the job as they haven't supplied the parts

Flashing Glowplug Light
chrispb123456 replied to Bioman1966's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi there The glow plug light doubles as the engine management light on the diesels, quite often this is a faulty brake light switch so check and see if the brake lights are working correctly, will also have left a fault code which will pin point the fault. Tip. Get yourself a Vagcom lead ( -
