  1. So people won't join just to buy and sell cars is the long and short of it. Wheres your quote from? Andy Pandy or the magic roundabout?
  2. What is a realistic price for a new remote key? I know the reprog can be extortionate but what about the key itself?
  3. You can also try applying some GENTLE heat with a small blowlamp which can als help when seized - but try the oil first.
  4. Indeed it is, and a colloquialisim has never been so apt ;) Oh I thought Pajero meant "pile of sh*t" You learn a lot on this site don't you?
  5. You should be able to change the ignition switch without changing the Key and lock segment. The switch should be accessable once the cowling is removed.
  6. The yellow clips are left in the door and the door card is pushed upwards - the slots in the door card come down onto the clips. So don't pull outwards - slide upwards. If when you get the card off the slots are broken if you can find the bits you can superglue them back together. Good luck PS if you are stuck for the yellow clips I have half a dozen you can have.
  7. Well I went for the Tom Tom one
  8. On both mine the cambelt is completely covered. The MKi has an Aux belt that drives the alternator and Aircon and there is a smaller belt which drives power steer I think.
  9. I would agree about the quality- However the Galaxy is not a Ford it's a VW/SEAT . Toyotas are very reliable - just not as good and plain boring!!
  10. My MK1 won't run both screens and the rear heater but other than that all works fine.
  11. Well make sure you make up for lost time!!! :D :D
  12. Try running a power lead to the unit and see if it fires up - If it does then start back tracking to find out why you have no power.
  13. Well it won't be too long before it goes the way of Windows 98 - then you'll be sorry!
  14. I did in fact also obtain a new slip ring and bearings - but when it came to getting the old ones out the puller I had wouldn't fit so rather than break the damn thing I just changed the regulator. Some time in the future I will do the complete rebuild - perhaps when the motor isn't required for a few days.
  15. Likewise from me BigD (us Big's have to stick together!!!)
  16. Well new regulator arrived this morning - I fitted it tonight - about 45mins all told. Now charging at 14volts so I'm happy!. One curious thing is that the Air con packed up about three weeks ago - but I left it thinking I would take it in to get it looked at - but since sodding about with the alternator all is now working again!! Maybe it was a bad connection and I moved when fitting the alternator. Anyway I'm a happy bunny now! ;)
  17. Well if it helps I just re trained as a gynaecologist - Those bloody correspondence courses are a nightmare ! and don't talk to me about homework!!!! ;) so I'm game for a laugh if you are!! ;)
  18. I don't know about peeing up walls but I do know about taking the piss!!!! ;)
  19. When mine went on the MK1 - you sure noticed it! My wife said "theres a funny noise coming from the engine" Yep it was the engine trying to climb out of the car!! Mine was just a broken bolt - so fixed easily. But it did crack the exhaust and eventually became a break just behind the CAT - I had to bridge it with a section of pipe which I used clamps to hold - It must be OK as it has passed two MOT's so far. Fix it quick!
  20. The Fan problem sounds like a resistor pack - I had that go on my Mk1 - Seatkid advised on how to fix - there should be a post or two on that somewhere.
  21. I just looked on mine and I can't see the bit you point out. It's the Compressor and I have two pipes as do you but apart from that there is no other pipes - the electrical connector sits on top of the compressor . I can't make out from the pic if anything is missing at all.
