In principal a good idea but it won't work for a number of reasons. Not least of which is the fact that every single one of the cars bar the very latest are all VW's - they are just Ford badged - They are also essentially obsolete models as Ford is no longer producing them - they have an new all Ford Model. Secondly where would the value for them be? We swap details of how crap their dealer network is, How Ford don't honour their waranties , How they ignore inbuilt problems of design and will not put any money into solving them - Face facts this site is an embarrasment to Ford. :lol: Now maybe VW might be interested? :D

On my MK2 I get an annoying brake squeal - most of the time - I had first noticed it some months ago so I took the calipers off - cleaned them up and used copper slip - which seemed to cure it - until a couple of weeks ago. I notice hwoever that whilst it is squealing I can get the noise to diminish or disappear for a while by turning the wheel slightly to one side - I can't remember which - which makes me think it could be something other than just a caliper sticking. I have no other noises or issues so I keep coming back to the caliper or I am beginng think maybe it might be the wheel bearings. I thought maybe that the hub is moving slightly on the bearing and this is what makes the squeal come and go . The Discs and Pads have done around 15K so are probably fine. The car has done 99K. Any ideas? BJ
