A driver is stuck in a traffic jam on the motorway. Nothing is moving. Suddenly a man knocks on the window. The driver rolls down his window and asks, "What's going on?" "Terrorists down the road have kidnapped Gordon Brown, Alistair Darling, David Miliband and Jack Straw. They're asking for a

Ford Galaxy Air Con Pipe
Bigjeeze replied to mickeytj's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Scrappy or dealer there are no other options. You could of course take to a metal shop and see if someone can weld the ally for you - Although pipework is notoriously difficult because it is thin - which is why it gets holes in the first place. -
Wolverhampton Garage Selling Used Cars
Bigjeeze replied to andy936's topic in Dealer Service and Reliability (Galaxy)
Hi Andy, You said she did not know she was being recorded, if you did not inform her of the recording it is not permissable as evidence in a court of law ! Radiotwo I think you'll find that only applies to business's or companies - Not to individuals. Besides on that basis no recordings of crimes etc could be used . In most commerical situations you just need to put it in soem of your documentation somewhere you don't actually have to mention it. If the Solicitor reckons it's ok then lets see what transpires! -
No..., Lucky would be the chip not falling out of the car in the first place!!!! :D

Aircon Problem But Not A Leak!

One pipe should be hot the other cold if it is working correctly - Maybe as suggested there is an temp sensor that is working intermittently. Have you tried VAG Com? -

If you have climate control then it's probably just doing it's job - with an outside temp of 26c it will cool much more powerfully until the correct temp is reached then it will wind down. Try it on the lowest temp and see what happens ( ie no indicated temp just low) -

PD Engines VW505.01 Oil - Where's the cheapest currently? - It cetainly isn't Halfords who's pricing seems to be on a steep upward curve. Any other ideas? -
How long have you had it? Has the performance changed? Does it start and appear to run OK? As insider says - it could be binding brakes - Try parking on a levle surface then pull away up to about 20 mph put itno neutral - does it come to a halt qucikly does it roll on ok . Check tyre pressures.

Five surgeons are discussing who has the best patients to operate on. The first surgeon says, "I like to see accountants on my operating table because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered." The second responds, "Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside them is colour coded." The third surgeon says, "No, I really think librarians are the best; everything inside them is in alphabetical order." The fourth surgeon chimes in: "You know, I like construction workers. Those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over at the end, and when the job takes longer than you said it would." But the fifth surgeon shut them all up when he observed: "You're all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There's no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains and no spine, and the head and the @rse are interchangeable.

Air Con Repeated Failure
Bigjeeze replied to JohnSimpson's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
When it was jacked up we saw a trace of dye on the high pressure hose from the compressor where the flexi bit joins the metal collar. The clue was that the system had been pressure tested, refilled etc etc by two garages and pronounced gas tight by both - but only when the car was in the workshop. As soon as you drove it the movement on the pipe was enough to let out all the gas within a 3 mile trip. New high pressure pipe was .......... -

I think that one has a join under the offside headlamp - You either need to take the whole front of the car off or as I did you take out the headlamp and then cut the glass fibre away to enable you to reach the joint. The other end I think is down behind the engine on the right had side (looking from the front). You need a special toll to remove the pipes it's not expensive and you can find them on Flea bay. The pipes can be bought from Ford or VW - But depending on where the break is you may be able to get it repaired in situ - which is probably going to be the cheapest option!. -
Low Pressure Port Leaking Valve
Bigjeeze replied to j0nesy's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
It's not connected to the receiever dryer - thats in the condenser body - There is an oil trap just past the fill nozzle - You go to Halfrods they have an aerosol sealant that seems to work - it costs about -
Are you sure it has sufficient gas in the system? If you don' then it won't run anyway. I bought one of those DIY kits that included a gauge so I can at least tell if it has any gas.

What model and which pipe? They vary according to model. I have replaced one of the pipes that connected to a long pipe but you need to be more specific. -

I shoukd check out the inhibitor switch - I am not sure exactly where it is but I am sure someone on here will tell you where. -
You could re check the Master cylinder is bled properly - It is not a standard type it needs a vacuum type to suck the fluid in rather than the pressure type. That may be a n issue - but it does sound like the box will have to come off if no joy with that.
