:D Are you challenging me to a duel, or a Dual , and if so does that mean that there will be two of you? :D

Buy a complete heater here: http://e-webasto.eu/?69,hydronic-d5wz-12v If the glow plug change doesn't work.

Having been through the early model breakdown scenario on my MK2 I can say that the dealers hadn't a clue - they changed the front evaporator ( pulling out the dashboard to do it) then the compressor before finally realising it was the condenser. I have dual (not duel :) ) air con and can confirm that there are vents in the roof - if you don't have the vents and by extension the rear Unit in the nearside wheel arch then you haven't got a dual system. They always come out with the swarf issue when they don't know what's wrong. If the compressor has died then there may well be swarf in the system but it's quite unlikely. Do a search for Air Con issues ,it's most likely to be the condenser but it might also be one of the pipes leading out of the compressor ( I had that a couple of years ago) Good luck.

Where Is Alarm Horn 2001 Galaxy
Bigjeeze replied to dkphotoman's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Yes -
Can't speak for the auto but the manual requires you lower the engine and box around 4 inches or so then slide the box to the right (from the front) before it then drops to the ground as it weighs a helluva lot!

Where Is Alarm Horn 2001 Galaxy
Bigjeeze replied to dkphotoman's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
It's under the front of the dash - you can get at it from under the bonnet by removing the tray as if you were changing the cabin filter. -
Quote from Glen Database server crashed taking out half the databases with it, I have manually re-entered all the field data that was corrupted and hopefully all is OK again, This took longer to get the sites up but at least no data has been lost,. Cheers Glen

Providing the one you are replacing it with is in good condition and all retractors etc working and no damage to the material then I would suggest it's fine. Where I would draw the line is replacing airbags and seatbelt tensioners with second hand as you have no way of knowing if they are still functioning (NOT THAT YOU CAN TELL WITH AN EXISTING SET!).

Break Servo Removal Help
Bigjeeze replied to morphias's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
According to the TIS you need to remove the Master Cylinder first - then remove the EGR valve and it should then be clear to remove - You firstly move it to the right then pull the left side forward and then it's out. It doesn't mention anything about dropping the engine or similar. If you don't have a copy of TIS have a look on Ebay you can get a copy for less than -
Cruise Control On Galaxy Mkii Tdi
Bigjeeze replied to powerdog's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
The two main components you can check are the brake & clutch switches - The cruise control on the TDI is electronic not vacuum driven. Check the switch on the stalk and the connectors. If it still doesn't work you need someone with VAG Com to see whats not working. -
Just a suggestion - You haven't lost the chip from the key have you? Try your spare just in case it's the immobiliser.

Lets see how happy he is when he tries to get the bolts out  What bolts? It's a complete new heater - All I need to do is to remove the old heater ( bolts in that are regularly removed and greased) and replace with the new one - No messing about with the bolts trying to get into the casing to change the glow plug for me!!! Just swap a few hoses around and Bob's your uncle!!
