While walking down the street one day Mr Brown, Mr Cameron and Mr. Clegg are all tragically hit by a truck and die. Their souls arrive in heaven and are met by St. Peter at the entrance. 'Welcome to heaven,' says St. Peter. 'Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see such high ranking officials around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you.' 'No problem, just let us in,' cry the high ranking MP

Battery Dead - Short? - Other?
Bigjeeze replied to ninja-uk's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
The battery does seem to be flat - The dials shooting all the way over ususally happens once you re connect the battery - I am not sure why. The dash back lights are meant to be on regardless of the lights being on or off. What you don't mention is whether or not you have checked the charging of the battery in the car. Do you have multimeter? The battery should have a voltage when fully charged and not connected of at least 12 volts. The car should charge at 14.2volts - If it is not charging then that might well be your problem. -
Alternator Workshop Light
Bigjeeze replied to gregers's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
IF the problems is the charging light aslong with the Alternator warning then it probably is the brushes/regulator. Get the detail of the alternator and get a replacement - it's only a few screws to remove and re fit - then problem solved. Also cheaper than a new alternator!! -

Galaxy Auto Wont Move When In 'drive'
Bigjeeze replied to lou3714's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I'm not an expert on Auto Boxes ( nor indeed on manual!!) but this sounds like some form of cable adjustment if it works in the other gears - alternatively it's got a problem on the ECU - a qucik visit to a gearbox specialist seems in o0rder!. -

Loss Of Gears
Bigjeeze replied to andrew welsh1958's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Is it a Mk1 or 2? It sounds like the cable is knackered - Do a search there is tons of info on here - It's either that or possible the pin. -
Maybe - but lets hope that after 6th May a lot less of them will be quite so happy!!

Flooded Drivers Footwell

Another way of getting to the scuttles is to remove the plastic inner wing from the front wheel arch. About 8 torx type self tapper screws then it pulls out - Once out you can check the plastic flap valve thingy that is usually where the crap accumulates - also you can check the drainage from this angle as well. -
I was testing children in my Dublin Sunday School class to see if they understood the concept of getting to heaven. I asked them, 'If I sold my house and my car, had a big garage sale and gave all my money to the church, would that get me into heaven?' 'NO!' the children answered. 'If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the garden, and kept everything tidy, would that get me into heaven?' Again, the answer was 'NO!' By now I was starting to smile. 'Well, then, if I was kind to animals and gave sweets to all the children, and loved my husband, would that get me into heaven?' Again, they all answered 'NO!'. I was just bursting with pride for them. I continued, ' Then how can I get into heaven?' A six year-old boy shouted out: "YUV GOTTA BE FOOKN' DEAD...." A resident of Dublin goes to his parish church one Saturday afternoon and enters the confessional. He says to the priest, "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. It has been full one month since my last confession and I

Yes of course - It's not too difficult but bloody heavy work. DO a search I did mine a year or so ago.

When I did mine ( @ 101K) I bought a new half shaft at first thinking that was all that was needed - However on inspection I also decided to change the gearbox flange as well as the splines looked rather worn. I haven't as yet replaced an inner cv joint - they are a curious design unlike normal CV joints. I have the same symptoms now as when it failed last time ( I now have 160K on the clock) but I am no longer sure where the problem actually is!!. It feels like I have an eginew restrainer or mounting gone - when changing gear or on the overrun there is a very clear clunk - but as I say I don't know where it's actually coming from but I am thinking I will have to cnage the gearbox flange and half shart again. I don't think either is a factors part.
