Park switch is not working - they have a contact/switch in the motor assy to tell them when the arm is in the park position, and turn off the motor - if it is not parking, this is the only thing it can really be.. Mike

T120, I already have a kit fitted to my R1 - a pair of Bi Xenons - was NOT cheap lol, but a must at speed on country roads!! BTW, she passed the MOT with colours a flying! Mike

Ivor - Sod the manual and get it pluged in, and whoever was asking, the aux eater has it's own address, different from the aircon/climate - it is on channel/address 18. Mike

Had one of those elec jobbies - burnt it out taking the crank bolt off on my Escort Diesel Van!!! In the end, just rested the end of a snap on 24" breaker bar and impact socket against the floor, with my foot on it to stop it slipping, and got the missus to flick the starter for 1/2 a sec... Sorted and off dead easy! Handy tip, passed on by my Dad!! Mike

Here's a pic of my Mums' Alfa after fitting 1/2 of the kit - see if you can tell which lamp is yet to be changed... http://img74.exs.cx/img74/4953/mycarhidvh78pg.jpg Mike

Yes, it's the genuine Xenon upgrade, no "dodgy" xenon type bulbs.. Integrated Ballast and starter, no cheap external starter or lamps on delay.... UK construction and use requires self levelling and washers for HID, but mine passed it's first MOT last month with no problems, and tbh, if there was a prob, it's a 5 min job to remove the actual lamps and replace with H7's leaving all the rest intact, until you get around the corner and another 5 mins...... I can supply the Techone H7kit with 8000k lamps (or 6000k if you prefer (too yellow)) for

John, where do you fill your tank for

Chromedome - Have to disagree, removing the lamps is MUCH more work! Changed my original bulbs for Osram Silver Star when I first ot the car - 5 mins tops... Then changed them again when I fitted the HID kit - an hour tops, still quicker than taking the lamps out, plus no problems with alignment after refitting! Mike

Re the curved front - I've tonight fitted a 6006E to my 2002 Gal, facelift model, and it looks fine, tbh, it softens the look up a bit over the square 6000e model.. Mike

Aux heater has it's own seperate sensor for temperature, which only controls the aux heater - it's a make/break switch that should operate at 10 degrees, it is situated behind the windscreen scuttle panel, roughly in line with the battey, and clipped to one of the wiper linkage arms, awkward to get at but simple enough to test the sensor and short it out to check the heater. It doesn't affect the glowplug preheat time, as this is controlled by the ECU via a coolant temp sensor, so this is something else.. Just double check that the dealer has pushed the multiplug all the way home, it is fixed to the mounting bracket, just above the aux heater, and it is a bugger to push all the way home due to the angle, firstly give it a tug on the loom, and if it comes undone, it wasn't in properly, it should noticeably click into position.. HTH Mike

Programing Electric Windows

Ditto! Mike -
Big tip... If you have heated seats... Don't keep your wallet in your back pocket - it causes an increase in resistance and a hotspot, which burns out the element!! Had 2 sets of replacements in my 406exec a few years ago - lickily under warranty!!! When examined, both had failed in the same place, and when I sat in the car, it was just under my wallet!! Mike

On my previous, previous car so to speak, a 2000 306 Dturbo HDi, I would get around 10k from the front set, on the previous car, a 2003 Picasso HDi Exec, I got 13k from the fronts - Not had to replace those on the front of the Gal yet, but when I do it will be with Michelin MXM reinforced from Costco @
