  1. Mat - just a thought, I had a similar prob with a couple of 405's a few years back - they only overheated at speed.. Turned out the rads were partially clogged with silt from poor quality antifreeze... They were about
  2. You have to code the remote to the central locking - AND the transponder chip inside the key to the immobiliser, sound like they have forgotten to do the latter.... I posted earlier this week on how to do it.. Mike
  3. I take it she "parks by touch" then??? Where exactly do you live - So I can program it in as an AVOID on my Sat Nav???? B) Mike
  4. JB - if you have no luck, and you have a Cotco card - they do Pukka Bosch Silvers for
  5. Cat 2 immobiliser.. Mike
  6. Matt, just had a look on my Autodata stuff, only shows ABS and AirCon wiring... Prob because they are the ones that fail the most!!! Sorry m8.. Mike
  7. I've fitted both to mine... Do a search and all will be revealed!! Mike
  8. Afaik, it's just a cat 2 immobiliser - the alam won't qualify as it's not self arming... Mike
  9. Depends... If your Gal had DBW (drive by wire) ie no throttle cable, just an electronic connection to the engine - it should be poss.. Easiest way to check is, sit in the car with the motor running, in neutral and handbrake off. Speed engine upto about 2500rpm with right foot - then, without moving right foot, apply LEFT foot to the brake pedal... If revs drop to idle, you have DBW... Let us know. Mike
  10. SOrry, it doesn't clear the fault codes if you disconnect the battery.. Mike
  11. Ogben, if there have been 5 or more failed attempts at ignition, the fault will be stored and further attempts at ignition prevented as a safety precaution... In this case it will need clearing.. However, I think if the temp sensor is faulty, it will just not be giving the heater the instruction to fire, so therefore, I don't think it will have logged a fault and not need resetting B) Mike
  12. This any help? (didn't know if yours is a red key job or not, as doesn't say what year on your profile) http://img81.exs.cx/img81/9199/screenhunter0020dk.jpg HTH Mike
  13. Just look up a key speacialist in your area, should be a hell of a lot more competent than the Dealers! Also if it's just a std key, most key specialists should be able to obtain blanks... Your bigger problem comes in programming the transponder chip - as unless you have diagnostic equipment, or fancy a trip to the dealer, you need to have 2 programmed keys available in order to add any more... Mike
  14. I wouldn't touch either of those m8 - in my experience that sort of cheap stuff from the far east is just that! CHEAP and poorly made... Strange how they say ALL SALES ARE FINAL NO REFUNDS... Plus you got
  15. When I said the full version, I meant one that was regg'd/unlocked, but you will still need the VAG-COM lead too... Mike
  16. Right, just checked - if you don't have 2 keys, you'll need the existing codes deleteing and the codes of the existing and new key adding - and I'm afraid it has to be done diagnostically, although VAG-COM (full version) can do it... Whereabouts are you?? Mike
  17. As far as I know you need to have 2 working keys to be able to program another.. Will have a look on the lappy in a min and see if I can get more info.. Mike
  18. 1. Mike, 2. Liverpool 3. 02/02 Tdi 115 Zetec Auto 4. 5 months 5. Yeah, but a much newer Ford Direct one with a proper warranty!! 6.
  19. Clicking noise is the metering/fuel pump for the heater, a modified pipe assy was made avaible with insulated clips which apparently quietens it down, doesn't really bother me, as I at least know it's working!! The heater need the external temp to be 10 otr below AND the coolant temp to be 75 or below.... Before it attempts to fire up. HTH Mike
  20. First off, I'd say the Gal is much more capable than a Zafire, all the Gal's seats are full size, and robust - not like the folding things in the Zafira, also, with all the seats in use, the legroom and luggage space in the Gal is much better... Would never go for a petrol one though... Mike
  21. Latrine, depends on how cold it has been in your area, been quite mild here the last couple of weeks, needs to drop below 10 deg to get it to work. Mike
  22. Well I bought my gal from ,Chris Higham Ltd of Ormskirk Merseyside, what a to$$er! Sells
  23. Oh dear... From bad to worse... If the wipers work on the other speed, but not the max, it could be a switch/wiring prob - Do they self park ok, and does the single flick/wash wipe work ok? Mike
  24. Chromedome, glad you are pleased with the results, have now got some more stock of kits, but am awaiting some spare 6000k bulbs.. Mike
