  1. If it's a pre facelift, then surely its a 110 Tdi, rather than a 115 as the PD engine only came in on the facelift, didn't it?? Mike
  2. Sure it's not a crack in one of the folds on the concertina hose? Mike
  3. Firstly how can measuring the pressure tell you how much gas there is?? Secondly.. Thae manufacturers have a good "how to" section HERE Mike
  4. It doesn't have one in the sense of a traditional fluid to air cooler - it has a fluid to coolant one, as per this pic... It's item No 1.. Mike
  5. Oil level is critical, however, these boxes are supposed to be sealed for life so unless you have a leak... Matt, I had this on mine before it got rebuilt, apparently it's the result of an ambiguous (?) signal from the gear monitoring sensor.. Either the sensor is on it's way, or it could be a loose/dirty connection... Mine was back in yesterday (foc) and had a complete new valve chest fitted (under the black steel cover on the front of the box) TBH, I didn't realise just how complex these Jatco's are... The valve chest is the size of a very large hardback book - anout 14"x10"x4" and has 11 solenoids fitted to it, 7 sensors and 2 dozen or so valves!! I was able to watch them test the rebuilt one on their test rig before fitting, and it's awesome... They plumb it all up under the shield, and then a PC runs it through all of the cycles and gear changes, checking all the change pressures and sensor signals... They also have a massive test rig where they run the full rebuild box and Torque Converter in the same way prior to refitting... Amazing stuff.. Anyway, If I were you, I'd take out the battery & tray and double check all connections... as the gear monitoring sensor is one of ony 4 that cannot be changed with the box in situ, it has to come out... Needless to say, on mine they replaced all inaccessible sensors as a matter of course when the box was in bits.. HTH Mike
  6. Sure I remember reading a thread about getting a spare audi or vw folding key, and having the blank cut, then programming it to the system, done a few searches - but can't find it, can anyone remember if it was poss? I would really like a folding key to save it making holes in my pockets!!! Mike
  7. As a note, just been out in mine - 12.5deg on the dash and it fired up right away and for the whole school run... Highest temp I have seen.. Mike
  8. Galaxychap - don't suppose you have a pic? What colour is it? Mike
  9. Nick, completely different on the Mk2.. You have to remove the wheel to get at the screws holding the top of the column cover on.. Trust me, I've had mine off about 5 times! Mike

  18. On the subject of these air intakes, do they improve or increase airflow into the cabin? My A/C is fine, nice and cold, but there really does seem to be a need for approx double the airflow through the blower/ventilation system.. And yes, I have changed my pollen filter lol. (pig of job!) (And get a coopers one from Halfords
  19. The turbo boost does reach 2bar plus... Taken from VAG-COM site... http://img217.echo.cx/img217/3705/screenhunter0011hx.jpg I presume the 2.1 for a short while is an "overboost" to help acceleration Mike
  20. Over the last 10 years or so, I've only owned diesel cars/vans, and I've probaly tried just about every so called additive out there. This one does work thogh, do a google search and look what had been said - btw it was formerly called Millers Diesel Clean.. Millers Oils Oh they also do a specific PD oil for Tdi 115 & 130's too.. Mike
  21. Just another rip off - prob something like a Forte Fuel Treatment, which you cam prob get for a fiver... Save youself some money and buy a bottle of Millers Diesel Power Plus instead, because that actually DOES work! PS, anyone else use Millers? Mike
